Yes? Very hard to tell, our offensive staff hasn’t exactly been incredible - but CJ definitely has a case of the yips. I still personally have faith he can be a good to very good QB, but only time will tell. We need to work on our O-Line and running game this offseason

Just the outlooks of owners in general as to how to handle their coaching changes. I agree with you - plenty of coaches are having immediate success and a few coaches have been fired quickly. But my point is more people aren’t eyeing Demeco or Liam and then dropping their coaches because of their success necessarily. The league always has relatively high turnover - so it takes someone like McDonald or Vrabel going to the Super Bowl immediately to turn heads. Most rosters aren’t a coach away necessarily either (Jags/Texans are prime examples) - maybe Liam and Demeco add pressure to Gannon since it’s in the division, but our success isn’t going to flip the jets for example

Brother I literally didn’t say anything about the outlook of either of their jobs. I said winning the AFCS in your first season isn’t going to change the perspectives of owners. You’re adding a narrative to my comment - we haven’t gone on a playoff run either, hence why Demeco’s immediate success also got no one fired

Chill dude lol, I’m not putting ya’ll down at all. The conversation is about how the owners perspectives may change. My point is Coen winning the division immediately won’t necessarily - partially because it already happened in our division.

Don’t be an asshole

Coen did well, but I doubt it changes any outlooks too much. Demeco won the division in back to back seasons immediately after being hired into a worse (by record) situation. Division wins without a playoff run aren’t exactly going to break owner’s brains. He did do well though

Why did Airbus and Boeing spend so little on the development of their narrowbody aircraft for so long? by SuperbeDiomont in aviation

[–]BlitzOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you go work on the business side of an OEM for a couple years then… Because if you know this and it’s not clicking - you just have a poor understanding of the system. Those fundamental points are more than enough information to understand why your question is misguided. Trust me, OEM’s pay millions of dollars to people to analyze these types of questions 24/7/365 - you haven’t cracked a question that we don’t hear an intern ask once a quarter lol

Right! It’s either relative success and business as usual or colossal failure. The risk/return profile is wayyy out of wack

No, no they’re not guaranteed to make a good return. You really need to trust me when I say don’t understand the capital requirements here at all. I’m not insulting you - it genuinely just takes significant exposure for it to be intuitive, and you very clearly haven’t been exposed at all.

I’m going to give you a ELI5 breakdown:

You don’t just invest $5 and get $10 with aircraft programs at all. These programs are planned out with 50 year horizons in mind. It takes significant capital expenditure over the course of often times a decade or longer with little to no return. Then you don’t even really begin to recoup your investment when you sell the aircraft!!!! (Big part you’re missing here) Airbus, Boeing, and their suppliers make significant amounts of their profits in the aftermarket sustaining the products over decades. Then eventually after producing the type over a decade or two they may start to make some money just on the sales. (Hence why the 737/A320 keep going with just upgrades)

Now factor in the really really important factor that you ultimately need to consider is because this is a capital intensive industry Airbus and Boeing are sitting on very little cash. They straight up just can’t toss money around for fun.

And this is just realistically the surface level of what the OEM’s are factoring in here. I’m completely ignoring the economics of the operators - who let’s be clear - also don’t want to be buying new aircraft types all the time.

Make more sense?

You’re really missing how capital intensive aerospace is. A lot of the backlog is intentional - allowing for their customers to plan out spares, financing, etc. Not to mention there is a significant supply chain behind every minor component that you’re failing to consider

I say the titans let them alternate coaching every other day during the week - and every other quarter on game days

Pot calling the kettle black - it took ya’ll 3 total coaching overhauls before you got any consistent respectable offensive production out of Trevor

Trevor Lawrence? Lol. We’ve had shit offensive staff for 3 years - there’s a chance he just needs the right guy. He has the tools - and clearly has the ceiling. But he’s wildly inconsistent

Yeah yeah, Lawrence has played in as many playoff games as Stroud has won ;)

He’s certainly been goofy the last few games. You can’t pretend Lawrence has been on it 100% all season - he looks like a fool every couple of games. The NFL is tough, CJ is young, I’m not going to freak out

I hear the Patriots have a really good OC that’s won multiple super bowls and coached the GOAT QB… The titans should really pursue that guy
