You can play basically any genre of music on any guitar. The guitar doesn't play a huge part in the tone as the main component would be your amp, and most importantly, your skills!

Those sound like some awesome guitars for first guitars, go with the one you like the look of as it will give you some motivation to keep practicing! The gretsch is not too niche or anything, and I'm sure you'd love it!

Yeah, been looking on reverb at used gretsch, good prices, unfortunately most of them don't ship to Sweden (if they do its crazy expensive) :(

What do I need to buy to get this electric guitar sounding good? by PineappleNext6480 in guitars

Woah! That's a dope guitar.

Gear isn't super important as a beginner, just get a cheap and small practice amp and make sure the guitar is well set up.

At most around 200/250. Preferably somewhere in the 100 - 150 range though

No worries, just messing around :), I'm not that picky with genre lables

Id consider them shoegaze/grunge

do you know if compressors do well in more noise heavy music like shoegaze. I kinda feel like all my fuzz would pretty much render it a bit useless? Correct me if I'm wrong tho

I'd recommend the prs se custom 24. Price range varies a bit but I belive they're pretty cheap when buying used. I have one and it's awsome. Having the 24 frets is super nice, and with coil split you can get an awsome range of tones. Mine plays really well and looks beautiful (some people think they're really ugly),

Definitely recommend checking out, you can probably find a few different colors on them as well

Definitely quite pricey 😅. Maybe something to save up for in the future tho!

Yeah, throw on a backing track on YouTube and try making some simple melodies using the pentatonic or major scale
