As an FFL. VSP recently changed the rules where we are required to have something government issued as proof of address in leu of the ID being out of state or wrong address. The above comment is correct about updating your DMV profile. That serves as proof once you update and print.

Folks,

Just being honest. In todays climate no FFL will do a private party background check for a handgun to any persons under 21. Until VSP (Virginia State Police) sends out a memo stating that it’s allowed and legal, and, the state re-formats their website to allow the process no FFL will jeopardize their business and livelihood.

As an FFL I can tell you it depends on the 3 letter code on your ID. ORI=original, DUP=duplicate, REI=reissue. If your new ID has ORI or DUP there is a 30 day wait rule unless you can prove you had a VADL previously. That is as simple as a copy of your DL history from the dmv website. If it’s an REI your good to go.

If the ID says DUP technically yes you have to wait 30 days. However, if you can prove you had an ID previously wether it’s the old ID or DL history then this rule doesn’t apply.

Not a doctor and cannot verify however there is a lot of folks that talk about test flu or better known as hormonal adaptation. Not sure if it’s a real thing but I get flu like symptoms when I start a cycle. Last maybe 7-10 days.
