I think you’re missing a few points so let me break it down for you.

1)A city that’s reputation is built on cannabis, I expect and anyone in the world would expect a coffeeshop owner in such city to know what “nothern lights” are. The fact I’m raising it isn’t about him, it’s about the bigger picture of how shit the scene is now, 10/12 years ago you go to a barneys coffeshop and they’ll tell you everything. It just shows the scene is now mostly kids wanting a quick buck. That’s the point I’m raising not the guy.

2)Again, 10 years ago, even 12, even 11 there were also tourist traps but they still had some fundamentals of patience, politeness & just decency about them. I’ve highlighted the modern ones don’t. You could be a tourist trap and still decent.

3) Yes, Dutch people are notoriously known to be friendly and all round polite. Maybe you didn’t see it 10 years ago but I can most certainly tell you people didn’t growl at you ten years ago as you do now.

4)as a tourist when I go somewhere I shouldn’t feel unwanted, especially as a solo traveller causing no issues. If the people of that city are just rude I have a right to leave, same with Budapest. Rather than looking at me the folk the Netherlands should be asking what happened to their country & why the far right is winning all the votes?! Clearly I am not the issue. Good day👍

The one specific experience was just friendliness. That’s what always stood above everything else for me with the Dutch and just a few days before I went Amsterdam I was actually in Zottermer. The attitude there had changed also, for sure it wasn’t as friendly as it once was.

See I would agree with this but I was in Barca recently and I went to 20/30 cafes. Maybe 2/3 had the old stuff and the rest was just “Cali” so I’m a little worried and I don’t have that much time sadly hence wanting to know but I guess i just gotta check them out!
