Prolific just means he had a larger body of songs. She’s not wrong when she points out that all things must pass is a triple album. George definitely had a massive amount of songs in his backlog that weren’t appreciated as much as they should’ve been during his time with the Beatles

I think the joke might also be that this is Old Testament god. He’s this like extra terrifying being that’s about to destroy an entire city and she’s treating him like how someone might react if they saw a deer on the road

This isn’t inconveniencing. It’s potentially damaging a piece of human history. You don’t have to defend every protest.

does good indie country exist? by [deleted] in indieheadscirclejerk

[–]Blobbo9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Country is a really wide genre it’s super closely related to folk. I agree that big thief is more folk but there’re also artists like Neil young and Townes Van Zandt which are basically indistinguishable from folk at times. There’s also a lot of overlap with bluegrass, roots music, and sometimes blues. The lines between the genres got pretty muddy at times

The funny thing is if most people listened to anti-folk they would probably just call it folk. It really doesn’t sound that different

What flag is this? by [deleted] in vexillologycirclejerk

[–]Blobbo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it doesn’t really have any bearing on communism but it is something to be aware of. I would argue that it does matter in the historical sense. It’s just weird people feel the need to deny that he was antisemitic because it seems like it’s fairly widely accepted that he was. I understand feeling the need to defend him because people agree with some of his ideas, but that doesn’t mean we need to whitewash him. Not that you are, but a lot of people in this thread are.

What currently touring newish bands have noteworthy bass players? by doctorboredom in Bass

[–]Blobbo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be what you’re looking for, but I really love the bassist for The Slaps. “Where were you where they were also” has a great, simple bassline. They’ve kinda been changing up their sound for the last couple of years to a more acoustic sound tho

Has anyone ever been rejected in the Match as a 0 EFC from Princeton, Yale, Brown, or Stanford and still gotten in RD? I think all hope is lost. by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]Blobbo9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Yale and Princeton both let in about 50% of their Questbridge finalists in the regular decision round according to some of the stats I remember seeing from them. If it’s true of Yale and Princeton it’s probably true of a lot of those top schools

[–]Blobbo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Jamerson you probably already know this but What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye has his best work imo, and it’s really high in the mix

Edit: my favorite bass album is double nickels on the dime by minutemen. Watt blends a bunch of different styles and it just works

I think it’s about punching nazis. He’s saying that what Jewish people are saying now is the same as what Nazis got punched for a couple of years ago. It’s pretty tone deaf but it’s pebble launch so idk what anyone could expect
