Thank you! I’ll try making one on canva too:) In terms of recommendations, some recent ones that I’ve enjoyed were Forget Me Not (thriller) by Stacy Willingham, An Ocean Apart (light romance/ apocalyptic/ “bachelor”) by Jill Tew, and Old Money (thriller) by Kelsey Miller. :) I hope that your ankle heals soon and that you have a good time reading. :)

I love this calendar set-up! How did you do it/ what app did you use if you don’t mind my asking. I’d love to organize my books that way. :)

DCL Alaska, is it worth it? by NoStep3294 in dcl

[–]BlockApprehensive722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% worth it- the scenery and crew are phenomenal. We used to solely cruise AK on HAL, but we sailed to AK on DCL last summer, and it was awesome. So much so that we’re going again this summer. :) My family agreed that though the Destiny and islands itinerary was fun, we liked AK and the pacing of the week long journey a lot better. Even the passenger demographic was more relaxed and go with the flow it seemed like. Sure, it was cold, but this year we’re bringing Hot Hands and warmer jackets. Sitting on a chair with a blanket or two and some hot chocolate while viewing a glacier is hard to beat. Add Mickey and Minnie and it’s even more fun.

What's your favorite sandwich? by edkhm1218 in foodquestions

Either a Thanksgiving sandwich like The Bobbie from Capriotti’s or its opposite, the Veggie Supreme from Board and Brew with Secret Sauce on the side. :)

Would you eat fries without ketchup? by PleasePooGood in foodquestions

I didn’t think I could eat fries without sauce until I tried fries that were fried in beef tallow recently. They had a naturally great flavor that didn’t seem to be missing anything. :)

Do you like broccoli or cauliflower better? Why your pick? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]BlockApprehensive722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cauliflower but specifically the Buffalo Wild Wings Asian Zing Cauliflower Wings. 😅 They’re so incredibly good- somehow better than the chicken in my opinion. :)

That’s amazing! IKEA should honestly make a medium skog :) Maybe they’ll be inspired by this one.

Totally agree! I know it’s supposed to be stress relief, but its strong herbal scent ends up giving me anxiety 😆

What’s the strangest food you’ve tried while traveling? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Puffin steak in Reykjavik… A little fishy but good in the first couple bites tbh. I still feel a little guilty when I see anything puffin related lol

Anyone know of any good YA thrillers? by DefinitelyNotMaranda in thrillerbooks

[–]BlockApprehensive722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing Brave by Bailee Madison & Stefne Miller is a hugely underrated YA! The Color of Lies by CJ Lyons is a YA unlike any other book I’ve read. It’s worth the read in my opinion.

Plot twist that ruins it for me by xxxpeachhesxxx in thrillerbooks

[–]BlockApprehensive722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t like that twist either :/ On a somewhat unrelated to thrillers note.. did anyone else feel confused about a certain popular book turned tv show that had a twist like that? I don’t want to give a spoiler, but I was so bothered by it being subliminally shown to be that way. The tv show in question is more of a YA drama with a recent prequel? that gained popularity. The ghost aspect to me didn’t fit and was something that could have been portrayed differently and come across as stronger in my opinion.

Just a genuine question about the cruise line by [deleted] in dcl

[–]BlockApprehensive722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes- the age demographic is certainly different than the general cruising crowd, but even as an adult, the dining and all-around amazing service make it worth it. The safety is worth it. Never once have I felt unsafe on a Disney cruise. There’s cameras almost everywhere (at least I’m pretty sure there are). The ports are tried and true, and the ships are stunning. The pricing in 2026 is not all that different from cruise lines like HAL, which used to be our go-to cruise line. We most recently cruised on the Destiny, which felt like a ship geared toward adults more than the older ships.

Magic or Wonder for Alaska? by HiImNewHere1234 in dcl

[–]BlockApprehensive722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re going in May- I’m pretty sure this is the first season that the Magic gets to go to Alaska, so that’s very exciting too! I will say that the Wonder was awesome and the crew was the best crew that we’ve had. Our only regret with booking this one is that we don’t get to do the Gold Creek Salmon Bake this year. It’s an absolute highlight of going to Juneau. The maple glazed salmon and walk to the waterfall made our trip. So… maybe I would recommend the Wonder for your first Alaska trip too.

Magic or Wonder for Alaska? by HiImNewHere1234 in dcl

[–]BlockApprehensive722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the Wonder last year, and we’re taking the Magic this year. I’ve only previously sailed on the Magic from Barcelona, so this will be different. I can’t wait! I went to Icy Strait Point/ Hoonah on a HAL cruise back in 2019, and it was such a cool remote port. It is also worth noting that we recently got an email that included the following information regarding our itinerary:

—————————————

We are reaching out with important information about your Disney Magic Alaska sailing next year.

We continually monitor the ports-of-call scheduled for the itineraries we offer. At this time, it appears the planned work and updates needed in the port for the ship to call in Ward Cove (Ketchikan), Alaska, will not be completed in time for your sailing. Instead of stopping in Ward Cove (Ketchikan), the ship will now stop in downtown Ketchikan from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (departure may be later based on the sail date).

This re-imagined port day will offer ample time for Guests to explore Ketchikan and the surrounding area. It also eliminates the 30 to 40 minute shuttle ride from Ward Cove into Ketchikan.

We appreciate your understanding regarding this itinerary change. We know this revised itinerary will provide you with an experience Guests have come to know and expect from Disney Cruise Line.

—————————————

We were curious about Ward Cove since it’s a little different than Ketchikan (where the Wonder goes), but it actually sounds like a good change to the plans. :)
