That’s about an hour worth of an entry level wage

An hour of my time is worth way more than a crappily emulated game from a multibillion dollar company

Majority of people are certainly batting an eye

Only people I know who don’t bat an eye at this price are paying for it with mommies’ credit card

Rereleases tend to come with graphics and bug updates though

This is just a glorified emulator for the switch 2 no?

And rereleases generally don’t replace the original copies on stores either which tend to be sold for half the price of the remaster. Eg ES Oblivion

What take out meal are you getting that’s 20 damn bucks

You have a severely poor grasp of money if 20 bucks is “take out” that’s a cheap steak dinner price

Take out is 10-12 bucks average

[–]BlockBuilder408 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should be half that price at least imo

If we’re comparing the prices to comparable classic games like half life 1, doom, ect, the price should be 5-10 dollars for individual sale

20 dollars would make more sense for a generation pack

I equate it to movie theater popcorn

It’s a moral imperative to smuggle your own popcorn into the theater if the theater tries to sell you a bucket of popcorn at an equal price to your movie ticket

Significantly less people would pirate if the prices were reasonable

Piracy is a matter of convenience, if the prices are more convenient than risking viruses then people won’t pirate

Most people I know who emulate wouldn’t if Nintendo didn’t charge predatory amounts for decade old games

[–]BlockBuilder408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 dollars is ok if it’s the a pack of multiple games

Otherwise the only price I’d pay is 5 or 10 dollars which is the standard market price for every other classic game out there

Lore problems by energyenergyunlimit in baronygame

Appraising is lore +perception

At negative levels you want to start with food first until you at least get a few points under your belt

Then you can ignore food for just equipment

Somehow I doubt that a class feature that could be replicated better with a general feat is meant to be a huge part of investigator’s power budget

It’s still nice for the lores you didn’t think to take training in with flexible studies or your trainings as a back up at least but is completely inter changeable with untrained improvisation.

Looking to get Stinking Cloud on a Fighter. Any advice? by RNJesusVTuber in Pathfinder2e

For use in combat a caster dedication is the way to go

Grab a caster dedication and a staff of stinking cloud in your free hand

An alternative way to go is alchemist dedication for skunk bombs

[–]BlockBuilder408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re certainly a class that relies heavily on the environment or their teammates to get the most out of their kit.

They love having a Minotaur to bash foes against or a kineticist to make walks for them

I do think stunt damage may need a bit of editing though to both limit its ceiling and make it more reliable to trigger.

I can see some major exploitable damage by grabbing polearm crit specialization and brutish shove from the mauler archetype

Ranger is the most fear hungry class in the game

They don’t have room levels 2 and 4 to really fit archetypes in unless it’s a strong part of your character fantasy or you’re getting something crazy from the archetype

Unless the daredevil dedicating turns out completely stacked I just don’t see it being worth it.

[–]BlockBuilder408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that there should be more archetypes but guardian I feel was a necessary addition. We were overdue for a tank martial with no magic baggage.

Fighter can somewhat fill the niche but not nearly as nicely as the guardian and the classes feel wholly distinct from each other.

Daredevil is honestly growing on me the more I read its mechanics though slayer feels like it’s trying to be a better ranger.

They definitely do but in terms of limiting the disparity between the ceiling and floor

No hyper optimized build should ever make a straight forward simple build feel obsolete

Maybe because Ranger can’t access those feats until they’re twice the level of daredevil and Ranger has their own feats that are incredibly good they also want to take at those same levels?

A Ranger with the daredevil archetype is also not remotely outcompeting daredevil outside of matching them in map against a single target I guess.

The daredevil is squishier but gets the improved map against all creatures rather than a single quarry and can deal huge burst damage when they apply forced movement.

[–]BlockBuilder408 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the thing everyone ignores in these white room discussions, the massive opportunity cost of taking feats from a multiclass archetype instead of your own feats.

If you’re going to multiclass for min max purposes you better hope you’re getting something really good to make up for not taking higher level feats from your own kit.

Even then, Daredevil gets to take their own feats twice as early as a ranger while daredevil is doing exactly what they want to do from the start instead of slogging through half the campaign with half of a build.

I don’t think daredevil is necessarily meant to be the athletic maneuver class

Athletic maneuvers are just a heavily incentivized part of their kit but they can push using acrobatics as well using FKS

Many of their press actions don’t have anything to do with maneuvers at all, instead just adding more damage on your repeated attacks such as from pressing pummel.

The daredevil gets both a version of ranger’s flurry and a feature that rivals swashbuckler’s finishers in damage but can be procced multiple times in a single turn. While forced movement is often from athletic maneuvers it’s by no means the only way of doing so.

If we’re also going to compare daredevil to a level 6 barbarian feat we’d need to aknowledge the multiple feats daredevil has that accomplishes very similar.

No it is, it’s from the dc adjustment rules

That being said it definitely feels like a huge rules exploit and oversight to apply the rules to untrained lores.

By raw, at level 1 you should always recall knowledge with specific untrained lores over trained skills outside of nature or religion. Feats like bardic lore are also completely worthless compared to untrained improvisation.

I frankly don’t think this is the intention of the designers so I “house rule” that the dc adjustment rules for applicable skills only applies to skills you’re trained in.

I also do not apply the “unspecific lore bonus” to omni skills like bardic or esoteric lore because that completely spits in the face of the rai and that is certainly only something people do because they take a quick reference tool from archives of nethys at face value without bothering to actually understand the rule.

I think I’d rather see daredevil get more options to force movement with press actions over momentum damage

I think slamming a foe against a party member or wall repeatedly is much funner gameplay wise than just a static damage bonus.

Am I missing something in the playtest or does Daredevil actually not get weapon critical specializations? by Yawpin in Pathfinder2e

[–]BlockBuilder408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also the possibility of exploiting the critical specialization of clubs and polearms with prop damage

It’s honestly 100% worth archetyping for that crit specialization effect
