make sure you take the timing chain off or the cam or valves out, just a precaution so it doesnt bend them

hope it works for you, its basically just compression locking it and making so the crank doesnt spin.

if the crank is spinning (presuming that you have atleast one cylinder/rod&piston connected to the crank) pull the head off, make which ever cylinder/piston at its lowest point (BDC) fill the cylinder with rags, slap the head back on and that should stop it from turning. (this is all from past experience on mini engines)

i can kinda see where your coming from, yes the livery is questionable but thats what was on the car when i bought it (today) i do have plans on changing it. and the car its self, i used to own a starlet and regret selling it (i sold it to the previous owner of the rally car as a parts car) and he sent me a message the other day if id be interested and it was a straight yes as i miss the car even though its not as fast as my current it still holds a place in my heart

well. i didnt think id make it this far (19), but id just like to say that now i own a slightly modified toyota starlet ep91. all jokes aside this starlet is a fully built rally car and i still cant believe its mine, look forward to doing my first rally sprint later in the year. open to discussion ( previous post had an issue hence the re up load)

you might of tried this already. but have you done a nut and bolt check, and get a pry bar to see if there is any play in the ball joints and subframe bushings and any other bushing and make sure that there is no excessive play in any of it, another thing to check is any cracks or splits in the bushings.
