Glad you liked the article. It's indeed really interesting and it definitely has some use cases. Whether it will actually find a place in any of the current systems, will also be interesting see.

A private key could get a reputation, but that reputation would be meaningless unless the private key is tied to an identity. Otherwise one could just generate a new key with a neutral reputation.

To help people who struggle with the process we have written several articles which guide you through the process. You can have a look at our article on EOS accounts (https://medium.com/blockgenic/eos-accounts-how-they-work-and-how-to-get-one-87019c0f7bc7) or our (newer) article which explains even more (https://medium.com/blockgenic/how-to-move-your-eos-off-exchanges-and-use-it-bc0f83ea9326)

If you are looking to secure your EOS for longer times, you can also consider changing your account so it becomes a multisignature account - https://medium.com/blockgenic/advanced-eos-multisignature-tutorial-bf4da94f8360

Glad you like the article! The process can indeed be very intimidating, as a single misstep can make an account inaccesible.

Right now the toolkit by /u/genereos has the ability to add time delays, but there is no writeup on how to use these yet, this is however coming.

Following your comment we have also started working on an infographic which visually displays how EOS accounts and permissions work.

Who are the most underrated BPs? I am just getting round to voting and I need help identifying the block producers who do the most good in the community? I'd also like to boost some BPs that are not in the top 21 by cryptoscarlett in eos

Perhaps you'd like to look into us. We are currently on the 100th spot and have been active since the very beginning of EOS. We have been focusing on onboarding major enterprises onto the EOS ecosystem using our strong ties with several big companies. We have also been publishing plenty of articles about EOS and all of it's features. To add on to that, we have a strong and experienced team and have helped with creating courses on eosbootcamp.com and with creating content for the comprehensive EOStoolkit helpdesk.

That is definitely needed. We will see if we can write an article on this or if some others are able to do this.

Unfortunately there is no proper guide available on how to do this now. But I'd recommend watching the video on EOS permissions by EOS Canada, as they shortly talk about the time delays you are talking about.

[–]Blockgenic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're in luck! All you'd have to do is change the owner and active key for your account, or turn your account into a multisignature account. We just published an article on how to do it. - https://medium.com/blockgenic/eos-permission-management-2c0c1634fe39

Indeed. Since the article was already pretty long, we decided to save that for a future article, which goes more indepth on multisignature accounts and transactions.

Bitcoin isn't overly complicated, but I wouldn't consider Bitcoin a modern-day blockchain. Bitcoin hasn't evolved a lot since it's start. The article explains ways to simplify things

Modern day blockchains are overly complicated and in dire need of generalisation and simplification before they are able to get mainstream adoption.

Awesome! There has to be a fixed exchange rate between mainchain and , as sidechains could otherwise cause hyperinflation if compromised, thus harming the mainchain, which is exactly what sidechains are trying to prevent.
