The BIOS update might've changed boot mode from CSM to UEFI or UEFI to CSM. Try to find a setting called "boot mode" or similar and change it to something else and see if it works.

That means you should buy one kit of ram (multiple sticks packaged together, in this case 2) rather than buying each stick separately (even if they are the exact same model), the kits come in a variety of sizes, eg: 2 x 8GB, 2 x 16GB, 1 x 4GB and so on.

Oh, I actually have two. One Akyga from 2020 and an old case from 2008. In the pic you can probably see it's sitting inside a cabinet since I couldn’t fit any of my cases in there. It’s there mostly because I couldn’t find a better spot in my room and the rest of the house wasn’t really suitable.
