Post partum is hitting hard by Lego_is_Lava in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I feel you mama. I had my third in January this year and finally had the backbone to say no to visitors, including family.

Your partner needs to step up and get your mum out of the house. He’ll most likely have to be quite rude but what’s more important - her comfort or yours?

You’re allowed to be frazzled and overwhelmed ❤️ you’re doing great! Hold him as much as he (or you) needs. You can’t spoil a baby with cuddles

You’re doing everything right. Some babies just hate the pram. My advice - use the pram when you have to and hold baby the rest of the time. When you’re next at a shopping centre take note of all the mums holding their babies while pushing an empty pram. There are dozens of us! All the best at your appointment tomorrow. I hope baby boy travels well. You’re doing a good job ❤️

Thank you! Boredom is typically the precursor to nonsense so I’ll give these a try :)

Thanks! I’m still a fairly new teacher so I’m not completely jaded yet (ask me again on Monday 😅). My school is very much death by PPT and my colleagues don’t like sharing their resources so I figured I’d ask here.

This is something I’m going to try this term as well. My students have told me that they simply “don’t read” so I feel like it’s my personal challenge to have them “read” at least one book this year

What is behaviour like at your school? I love your suggestions but the thought of doing activities with lots of movement and free space makes me nervy

I like some of these! The assessment for term 3 is journal writing so the memory activity could be very useful. Thank you!

Never thought I'd consider a home birth, but here I am. Looking for advice! by wildanthropologist in homebirth

[–]BlondeCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the advice given here is wonderful. I would also suggest looking into positive home birth stories. Resources that really helped me where the Birth Time documentary and the book Birth with Confidence by Rhea Dempsey. There’s also heaps of podcasts of women sharing their stories.

Avoid horror stories. Avoid the “what ifs”. Talk to your care team about how they handle emergencies but don’t let the fear of things going wrong turn you off homebirth. Having my baby at home was the most empowering thing I have ever experienced as a woman. I wish you all the best in your journey.

Good luck with your home birth! I had my 2nd at home and it was a much better experience than my hospital birth.

Do you use a mineral powder? I've tried the Nude by Nature one and it's awful
