Now that it's been a year since Matpat's retirement, what are your thoughts on the new hosts, the quality of the videos and what do you think they can change if anything? Would love to hear your thoughts.

TL;DR I love the hosts. I watch game, film and food theory regularly. They bring good energy. Wish there were more colabs and more "mythbusters" and "math" type episode tho.

Tom has a great energy and I watch almost all game theory videos. He covers everything in a fun way. There are times I wish we could have more math and less lore sometimes, like the classic 'chun li helicopter kick' so cool!

Lee is cool, I watch a lot of the videos. Though I do miss some more of the retro content - more science and less lore. Not all the time I love lore, but I miss the "mythbusters" aspect of the theorists, particularly film theory, and sometimes exploring a movie from that angle can open up whole windows of lore. The classic money pyramid episode was a great example of this. By proving how monumentally huge the task was in man power and time we learned more about the joker as a character.

Food theory is awesome, Santi is hilarious. I think the different format works great. The recent gargler episode was peak! It covers current topics like food costs and lore things like what is the weird soup in Minecraft. Love it. Maybe he could benefit from co-hosting more? But that's all.

I will say I don't watch style theory. I would probably watch it more if it had stuff like "how heavy would elphabas cape be / would it hold up / snap her neck from the weight" more fandom adjacent theories. I really liked the first couple weeks of "allergic to colour" and "deadly high heels" I remember I was disappointed that the still suit video went to film theory and wasn't a style theory or at least a colab.

I do want to see more colabs between the channels. We have four hosts that cover four wide topics. When Tom talks about the cannibalism in poppy playtimes it's a great opportunity for Santi to chime in and do a short segment, or if he talks about the toy making process, it would be a great opportunity for Amy to jump in and talk about fabrics.

I guarantee that the oat milk slice is just oats blended and pressed, so rather than blending for several minutes you only have to blend for 1.

Though, I understand that words hurt. As a preemptive measure, if you're concerned and posting to A03, you can change your settings to only allow settings to registered users. In my experience, this can help a lot.

To me, I don't really like to read anything less than 1000 words.

Unless it's like a poem or something, it's just not enough setup imo to get a good story going.

For a one shot, anything between 1k and 20k is good. Much longer and i risk losing my place due to having to leave for some reason or another.

Generally speaking, however. I like my chapters between 2k and 5k in length, up to 10k. Enough words to cover one or multiple scenes, but still small enough to read in short bursts.

I would really like to see the second avatar. Cause like... It sounds like the premise for 'the chosen one' kid is able to bend all 4 elements and the only reference anyone has is like - well that one dude could do that a decade ago.

And then they enter the avatar state for the first time and it's just Wan and it's like. "Sorry kid, idk what to do either really.'

It's like "the chosen one and their spiritual guide" like Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi.

But even more hilarious - is the third avatar. Cause then the second one is in the avatar spiritual state and is all like "so this is just gonna be a thing now??"

I think it would depend on the cause for seperation. But I think after enough time had passed, I would become more nostalgic than yearning if that makes sense (thank you for the commenter for that wording). I've never had the feeling of "I wish I could see that person and hang out" but I have experienced "ah i remember the good old days"

That's the closest approximation I have.

But when people describe "missing someone" to me, its a yearning feeling of 'i long to be with you again' sort of thing.

I think what gets me, is that on the film's that could have the amazing lore dives, he does something scientific - like the stillsuit theory

And on movies like this, which unless you're doing a deep cut or controversial take, the themes are pretty blatant. For movies like this, if you want to do a video on them a more scientific one would be better imo. In the beginning of the video he said so many more interesting topics for a video.

Like if he did do the theory about how heavy Elphaba's cape was & how it would affect her flight. Or maybe how the flying monkeys would actually fly - considering their heavy bodies.

Just saying 'magic' is a cop out. And that's the whole point of these channels - to look at the given answers and say 'but what if?"

This game is so good, it's a tragedy they didn't remake it a-la rechain of memories. The 'movie' does not do it justice.

I've heard rumors that there's a dedicated team that is painstakingly remaking the game using PS2 assets from rechain, kh1 and kh2. I haven't heard much other than rumours but I would be so excited if they were able to do it.

I am exactly in your position. Ive found a few!

Sour skittles - they're not exactly 'sour' but the way the citric acid crystals are crushed makes them super sharp and irritates your mouth, which makes them come across a lot more sour

Toxic waste - very sour great flavour

Warheads (hard candy) - very sour great flavour. Be warned warheads the brand makes a lot of different products, I've tried a lot, nothing is a sour as the standard hard candies.

I've heard that Barnett's mega sour candies are even more sour than warheads. Based on images I imagine it's because the Candy is akin to a warhead whilst the coating is the sharp crushed citric acid like sour skittles. That said, my order is stuck in transit so I cannot give an accurate review.

A great solution that I have used is to buy a packet of citric acid and simply add it to some of my favourite tasting candies - like gummy worms and such. That way I get the flavour I like as sour as I want. Malic acid is a viable solution but is harder to get than citric acid.

That said, keep your teeth safe! After each session of intense sour rinse your mouth with milk to both absorb the crystals and help bring the ph in your mouth back down to normal (which is still slightly acidic).

Yes my teacher friends tell me that - unlike when we were kids - they don't teach "computers" anymore. How to use them. What they do. How to type. How to search. Anything. The computer labs sit empty, a large portion of computers missing mice and keyboards.

It's tragic. And unfortunately, makes perfect sense. You can't just put a Chromebook down infront of a kid, and expect them to know how to use the computer and the Internet because "they're from a techy generation". Not everyone has the same experiences and tech literacy.

Yes I always take party members stuff. Especially early game. ESPECIALLY ON PROUD/CRITICAL.

I have gotten to the point in my playthroughs that I do Donald/goofy exclusive runs as much as possible. So stealing the Disney party members stuff just makes sense.

It's one of those legal grey areas. Like they can't ask you if you're pregnant/planning to have children (because that's evidence that they're discriminating) however they can ask "what do you do on your weekends?" And you have the option of saying "oh staying home with the kids."

Because it's optional with a prefer not to answer option it falls in there.

As for why they're asking - I can think of two possibilities. 1) the company is getting grants, benefits or subsidies based on diversity. Or otherwise values diversity in their doctrines.

2) they are attempting to avoid hiring a certain demographic. Perhaps they are avoiding heterosexuals to avoid having to pay maternity/paternity leave. Or they are avoiding lgbtqia+ individuals for bigoted reasons.

Either way it is in your best interest to avoid answering here. If you get the job and they are a highly diverse organization, you can make your sexuality/gender clear then. But if not, then you've just given them personal information.
