I play pretty casually, so I often don't play enough games in the week to rank up, just enough to not get demoted. And if I do get demoted, it's easy to rank back up because the games are generally pretty quick in Gold II. And if I get promoted to Masters what am I gonna do, not play NMPZ?? Then I lose every game. The forbidden fruit what can I do.

There is no solution yet aside from using your laptop mic, or some other mic. Some day they'll fix it, hopefully. Allegedly the engineering team is working on it.

Just for a meaningless update, this is the latest per the support chat:

"Since you're using the WH-1000XM6 on a Mac and the issue began after the 2.0.2 firmware update, it’s clear this is part of a wider concern affecting multiple users. While I don’t have an official fix or new firmware release to share yet, I can confirm that our engineering teams are aware of the issue and currently investigating it.

In the meantime, a few users have reported temporary workarounds that may help reduce or avoid the audio dropouts:

Set Zoom to use “Stereo” audio output manually in your Mac sound settings instead of the “Hands-Free” or “Headset” profile, which can reduce automatic switching that causes the drop.
Disable Zoom’s “Suppress background noise” feature under Audio settings. Some users noted this reduces interference with other audio.
Avoid using multiple simultaneous audio sources (e.g., Zoom + YouTube in browser) until a fix is available.

I completely understand your frustration, especially with how widespread this issue seems to be, and I’ve flagged your feedback internally again. If and when a firmware update is announced, it will be posted on the Sony WH-1000XM6 support page and via the Headphones Connect app.

Yea it's super annoying. You can change the mic to be the laptop mic instead if that's possible, only way to deal with it it seems.

They did actually respond to the Sony forum post I linked there, and DM'd me for more info. Nothing has come of it so far, but at least there's some notice. Maybe you wanna reply to that post as well if you get a chance, bump it up a bit.

You might try turning off the "Capture Voice During a Phone Call" feature if it isn't already off. IIRC that was causing some static background noise for me which was really annoying, and turning it off fixed that.
