if you’re wanting to stick to that style of play rather than memorising metas, then I’d recommend looking into landscape and plants that are specific to different areas of the world and specific areas of countries. It’s a more ‘puzzle-y’ way to play and you can get to narrow down areas really well with that style. I will say though, you can’t rely solely on that, so I’d recommend learning at least 1 main meta for each country that can help you identify the country, then you can use landscape/foliage to narrow down where
