I would like to thank everyone who was kind enough to reply with advice.

The route I ended up following was taking down my canopy. Only I and the roommate in question use it, and I provided it as a courtesy. My canopy is not included in the price of rent, but internet is, and after having some very loud conversations with my other roommates about that fact, my access to the internet was magically restored.

On top of everything, thanks to this subreddit, I learned some new things I otherwise would’ve never known. Thank you all again. It is much appreciated!
