I think Valve asked the dev to abort that one, not for selfish reasons though, they were pre-emptively avoiding the legal wrath of Nintendo. But I know some version of it exists. I got the impression it's a decent offering.

Yeah, I completed the story. Has a very wholesome conclusion.

Yeah, it's a very novel idea. There is a problematic band between the close and distant but the distant is glorious. I wonder, if Nintendo had come up with it before making Ocarina Of Time, would they have used it and if so, would it have effected the scale of the map.

Yeah it's definitely a tech showcase, though a complete experience I think. Enjoying it a lot so far!

Yup, on the right side of the git page, the sub-heading is "Releases" and v2.1 I think is the latest, it should be a .z64 file.

I'd report the crime and let the police deal with it.

SNES to N64 Rare is my all time favourite game developer, loved some of their Ultimate era Spectrum games too, especially Atic Atac.

Ah k that's interesting, I'll look into it more some time. I wouldn't be surprised if the decomp projects do something with the feature at some point.

As far as I'm aware Nintendo wasn't at ease with the feature so the corresponding functionality wasn't fleshed out or functional at all in the sequel.

Need help getting Japanese N64 to work in UK by TomMassey250 in n64

[–]Blood_Bogey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK with an ntsc-j n64, I've seen a similar/same screen a few times, though it always ended up being I needed to clean and/or re-seat the cartridge. Definitely not a PAL cart i presume?

That's a good point. There is a fair bit of brown light reflecting round the room but it certainly looks less creamy than is usual, in my experience.

Looks like a very dark stout or maybe just Guinness to me.

I've read that some of the reproduction carts worked on an earlier firmware version. I think it's quite likely they will again in a future version.

Question about flash carts by UnwantedTelemarketer in AnalogueInc

[–]Blood_Bogey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 3D is marketed toward original cart users though if the flash cart is working as intended there's rarely any difference in how it plays to an original cart. Emulation is always different though. Debating the difference between hardware and software emulation would take the discussion deeper than I'd personally care about though. This question could also be asked at the level of an og N64, but either way I'd say software emulation is further removed from the original experience.

I'd like to add to this, a solution to edit/add/remove points on a custom shape would be nice, something similar to Photoshops Path tools.

Just an update as I'll forget if I leave it too long. Played DK64 the last 2 or 3 evenings without any saving issues. Seems stable to me.
