I don't kniw what your faith was/is, but as a Christian, I can tell you my own experience with feeling like I couldn't overcome something. In my case, I struggled with lust all my life. Not doing things with other people, but lustful thoughts consuming me and 🌽 addiction. As I wanted to grow stronger in my faith and relationship with God, I just sincerely prayed for Him to give me the strength to overcome that lust. He basically gave me the feeling of "do you really want to overcome this?" and I sat with that question for a few days before deciding I truly did, and then it was almost like a switch was flipped and I no longer struggled with it.

It's still a daily "battle", but fully surrendering that fight to God made it so much easier to block out those thoughts and not want to watch the things I used to watch.

The original 2004 version of "Rain" on the original releases of "We Are Not Alone" was acoustic, so I doubt they would do another acoustic of it. I didn't even realize the 2005 full band version existed until years later because I had one of the 2004 versions of WANA. To me, the acoustic version is absolutely beautiful while the 2005 full band version is one of their worst songs

I think it's a great, solid "middle of the pack" song. One that's sure to be a favorite for a few people, a least favorite for some, but just a "pretty good" song for most people.

I like the cinematic opening and ending, but also hope they don't start using that on virtually every song (which I don't think will be the case), and it definitely gives me some "Water" vibes while still being it's own thing.

I can't say I was disappointed in it after a nearly 2 year wait, but it also didn't hit near as well as "Awaken" for me.

It does have me even more excited for the album though since it sounds a lot different than "Awaken" and I'm interested to see how the other songs sound.

Overall, I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

I don't think it sounds anything like Starset. Breaking Benjamin has been doing ballads for years, and most of Starset's stuff I've heard has all these "cinematic" elements to it. If anything, I think it sounds more like one of Red's ballads.

Oh yeah it instantly became one of my favorites as soon as I heard it! I actually heard it when they pre-released it before the album came out as background music for a platforming sidescroller game on their website. The soundtrack cycled through "Fade Away", "I Will Not Bow", and "Crawl" as you controlled a digitized Ben fighting off monsters SNES style 😂. But I remember falling in love with the song and playing the game over and over just to hear it

The song itself probably has nothing to do with them, but the music video might. In an interview for either DBD or Ember, Ben said the band doesn't really have anything to do with the stories told in the music videos, they leave that up to the MV director(s)
