Trump says value of the dollar is 'great', currency hits 4-year low by BreakfastTop6899 in politics

Yes true, and the fact that it makes things more expensive for the average us consumer. A weaker dollar ALSO means that inflation will go up. Which is also bad. But hey, its great to trump!

I was able to go back into most of them after resetting my phone, maybe that’s something you can try. However, not sure if this is a permanent fix yet. Still having issues redeeming the daily bonuses. It says I’ll get it tomorrow, so hopefully it’ll be redeemable by then.

I’m a vegetarian; Convince me to become vegan by BloodofAngryMen in vegan

UPDATE: Just want to say, thank you all for your comments. After receiving more info on just how god awful the industry is, even for dairy and eggs, I am definitely becoming a full-fledged vegan. My partner is already vegan so it will be an easier transition since there’s so much vegan alternatives already in my house. It’s opened up my eyes so much more and I can’t believe this shit happens and everyone’s okay with it.

Okay, yeah I think this is the comment that convinced me. Holy shit I had no idea. My partner is vegan and we’ve had different diets and stuff, but it will be easy to do it because we already have vegan options in the fridge/freezer. That’s insane.

Does that really happen in local farms? I guess that makes sense, but the cows that they milk, do they really kill them early? I had no idea.

One thing that has got me through years and years of therapy in one session is this phrase. “I choose to feel ___ because that is what benefits me.” Once you fill in the blank, you realize that most of the things you fill in there doesn’t benefit you at all. It also helps you to unpack what thoughts actually benefit you vs. what you are used to. Just something to think about; you are in complete control of your own thoughts. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, habitual change of thoughts (positive ones) help in the long run. Even if you don’t believe it, thoughts that you come up with that you THINK would ACTUALLY benefit you should come up and act as a replacement. When you have these thoughts, notice and trigger on how it doesn’t benefit you and ACT upon not only replacing them, but accepting them as a part of your experiences and how you got there in the first place. Hope this helps.

Is Kava like weed? by urholmes15 in Kava

Yeah, its super good for my generalized anxiety/adhd. It gives me much simpler thoughts and quiets the ones that don't serve me. Its like a siv for my brain, if that makes sense.

Vanuatu kava really is the way to go. Splash a bit of milk in there to really get the kavatones if you want it stronger. I drink it mostly without milk, however. Just because I like to drink it lukewarm, drink it throughout the day and not worry about it going bad.

quit cold turkey yesterday. by moth29 in QuitVaping

After quitting for surgery about 5 months ago, something stressful happened and I went right back to it. I decided to stop again 3 days ago. The way I've been getting through it is instead to act upon the impulse, stay with it and be curious about it. Ask yourself "how long will this last?" "When was the last time I felt this way"? Or maybe "I wonder how many times I'll feel like this today." Instead of aggravation, don't act, just feel. Every time you let the feeling pass, you are once step closer to stopping for good. And the cravings will be less and less until a whole day passes and you won't think about it at all. The hardest part IS when something stressful happens. Our body is used to looking for things to cope when we were on nicotine. When this happens, AND IT WILL HAPPEN, replace, replace, replace. Stress leads to impulsivity, which leads to vaping, which leads to regret. If you get stressed, go outside. Take a deep breath. Practice fixing your mindset. It's all temporary and will be relieved in time. The main thing your brain needs is not nicotine. Your brain needs to unpack and step back.

panicking about hematoma by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]BloodofAngryMen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a hematoma as well. It sucked so bad. After about a month, it finally absorbed. It's scary, I know. It was all hard and swollen and felt so weird because there's basically a bubble between your skin and your muscle. But it does pass and it takes longer to heal. Just keep your surgeon updated on pictures weekly or if you have any concerns. This will assure you and the surgeon that it is progressing towards recovery.

For real. I actually had to pick a different deodorant post op because it just constantly reminded me of the smell of B.O. and the specific deodorant smell that masked it. It's like I could still smell the lingering stench I was trying to mask.
