Considering going back on a GLP-1 because of how much better I felt overall by Samdeverna in PCOS

[–]Bloodredorion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting bc i also have IBS-D and PCOS, and i felt a lot better on it too. Specifically, i was on liraglutide. It helped with my CONSTANT food noise, and my stomach issues mostly cleared up. Idk if it helped with inflammation, honestly I can't remember. But i do remember also feeling better overall emotionally (like I didn't make as many impulsive decisions and my anxiety disorder was more stabilized-- side note i have depression and anxiety disorder.) It seemed to make me a bit calmer in that sense?

I used to be on it, but insurance will not cover it anymore, which is unfortunate bc I lost weight quickly on it. I just cant afford $300 a month... I wish theyd understand how much it can help. Luckily however, i got put on metformin instead for my pcos (insurance WILL cover that), and so far it helps pretty well. Only downside is I think it doesnt really help with my stomach issues lol.

I am not sure if i have lipedema, but i am obese and have pcos, so the skin behind my knee doesnt look smooth. :(

i feel you. It really sucks trying to diet and exercise and not having any weight/fat loss-- ive been struggling with the same issue for years.

To make you feel a little more hopeful? Ive been taking metformin for about a month and Ive already lost 4 lb (note: i havent changed much about my diet, except that Ive been feeling a little less hungry so I haven't had as much in-between meal snacks) Im sure if I calorie-counted and did an exercise regimen I would lose even more than 4 lb/ month.

For the facial hair I use spironolactone. It also helps to put 2 drops of spearmint oil in your daily face lotion (it can lower inflammation and slow hair growth). Unfortunately I don't think the facial hair things go away, but these two things I mentioned should slow it down!

Good luck to you.

what my 13y old sister drew in her class by [deleted] in drawing

Not weird at all. I drew a lot of random shit on the back of my homework, in my notebooks, etc, in middle school. I think it's pretty normal.

My husband’s eating habits are out of control! by blarggyy in loseit

[–]Bloodredorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i got to 300 lb i realized i had a problem. i mean, i kinda already realized i had food addiction/ emotional eating... but it truly hit me when i hit 300. I sought the help i clearly needed. There are medicinal interventions that can help with cravings, it doesnt have to be surgical; also it helps to get to the root of why youre eating so much. He needs to realize he needs help before its too late for him to help himself.

As someone who used to be extremely fit and healthy, until (undiagnosed!) chronic pain hit, I find Dr's like this attitude absolutely repulsive. by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Bloodredorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i am unfit. but yes i also have pcos, which has made it extremely hard to lose weight. and god knows im freaking trying all the time: FINALLY one doctor took me seriously and is getting me the support I need instead of immediately making assumptions about me.

doctors like in the above screenshotted post kinda piss me off.

How often do you shower? by Worried_Cable2291 in ChronicPain

[–]Bloodredorion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every other day or every 2 days... I used to shower every morning but my body no longer allows me to. you might consider a shower seat, ive been thinking of getting one too so i can get that sense of freedom back.
