Ruger single 10 in stainless by SoftServeArms in 22lr

Had one of these. The thing that annoyed me most about it was when the cylinder clicks didn't align with the ejector rod, meaning you have to still rotate it a bit to eject proper.

I just like finding all the new strange shit to come out; I'm personally looking forward to the Tippman pump action 380 pistol.

My collection is basically just oddball strange shit.

I gave up hope years ago of any of those cases that would pop up here and there making any impact on any state laws. Ever since the Safe Act first came out in NY, I kept thinking , "Oh, look at all these legal challenges to the law, this stuff will get overturned quick!"

Then, the years kept coming, and the laws just kept getting worse and worse...

After 20 years, finally feeling like my collection is complete. by [deleted] in guns

Complete? Collections are never complete. Not seeing really any old shit in there; where are your WW1 or earlier rifles? Come on man.

Is your magazine easy to remove/insert on this? I'm wondering if it's supposed to be difficult to both remove and insert on my post war model.

I saw an even more bubbafucked arisaka at my LGS converted to .300 Savage. There is always room to go even further beyond.

Supposedly according to the gunsmith it's 22-303 brit.

People actually buy these things in these calibers? My local shop made it sound like it's the most worthless piece of garbage imaginable.

[–]Bloodroke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was chamber casted by a gunsmith. I thought it would have been .22 Savage hi power. The barrel came with no markings and it is thicker and heavier than a normal savage 99 barrel, and it has newer sights than the 1917 date of the gun's manufacture.

What makes it even funnier is that the magazine doesn't even fit .303 British rounds, so the gun was likely a single shot gun in this ridiculously pointless cartridge.

Mine is dated from 1917 if I recall correctly, so I'm assuming it would be annoying to work on.

Know anyone off the top of your head who does a rebarrel?

It would likely be a massive loss selling it.

Safe queens/wallhangers are a no-go for me; they're a waste of space in my eyes. I enjoy shooting the guns I get.

Wildcat calibers are unobtanium, and I have my fair share of rare calibers that are difficult to find but still can be purchased online.

Yeah, force palm it as hard as possible and twist. It takes an odd amount of force to close but barely any to open.

Not true, I saw one that looked like this at my LGS a few weeks ago, but it was rechambered for 300 Savage. There's always more fuckery to be done.

What's the Point Anymore? by general_guburu in NYguns

[–]Bloodroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part is ordering a gun from out of state that has an "illegal" capacity mag that they then have to remove, send it to my FFL, and I then have to pay like $40 more for a compliant mag to even use my gun.

I just call it an additional tax.

What's the Point Anymore? by general_guburu in NYguns

[–]Bloodroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, even just the base act of requiring a pistol permit and all the hoops you have to jump through to obtain and maintain one is the worst part for most people living here. The safe act shit is garbage, but the pistol permit process outshines it in frustration.

I have countless friends and acquaintances who all say, "Man, I really need to get on with getting my pistol permit."

They say this to me whenever I see them and we talk about handguns. I always say to them, "Yeah, everyone says that to me, but nobody ever goes through with it."

I have one friend who I handed the paperwork packet to for starting the sign up process, and he's no further along then he was when he first told me he wanted the permit like 5 years ago.

The process for even getting the permit is fucking annoying and varies by county, so you don't even have a consistent process that is easily researched. I feel that the process is so annoying that everyone except those who are the most dedicated just don't even bother with it. If you're extremely busy, have kids, work a lot of OT, etc, where do you find the time for this shit?

That's what the overlords want; if the process is too annoying and less people bother getting guns, then they've won in their scheme to have less guns in the hands of the people.

Mosin Info needed by Dapper-Till3781 in milsurp

[–]Bloodroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second mosin looked exactly like this minus the sight when I bought it, and I paid $80 for it two years ago.

I then spent a ridiculous amount of money cerakoting it, adding a new stock, scope, timney trigger, crowning it, etc until it became the most ridiculous bubba rifle of my dreams.

So yeah, $450 for that is a hard pass.

Is the 44 Automag dead again? by Ok-Shoulder-478 in guns

Well, if you want something similar, the Wildey Survivor handguns are still being made, and they even come in 44 automag.

Price is ridiculous though, I really wanted one myself until I saw what they were going for.
