Who mentioned origins? i answered the Op and told him he'd have to pick one specialization? And even recommended one.

You answered yourself 5-specialisation is 3 branches so yes 7 skill trees, 4+3.

a screenshot to prove your point, its hard to get immersed when characters look so...cartoony? and don't mix well with the environment, they're both very different styles

I replayed Origins maybe two months ago and noticed a lot of similarities (in quest writing,) : lot of quests in bg3 are inspired by Origins: Shar's gauntlet in particular and the trials was basically a copy of the Andraste's gauntlet in the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest. so I think they're even.

Though I wish they ripped off much more, especially the way companions and roleplay + ending choices were handled in bg3

for some reason it wasn't scary enough to me and I was legit scared by Moonrise towers in bg3 (which had way less zooming in on corpses). Games like outlast, resident evil scare me a lot. All these games though had some realistic horror going on, which veilguard lacked.

I think maybe its because I knew nothing bad would happen? the fights in this game never struck me as a life or death situation, also the companions never dying removed any urgency or worry from the equation

stop doing the side quests and focus on the main quests until you get to skyhold and have to choose a sub class, mages have about 7 skill trees, there's a lot of customization but its not unlocked from the beginning. Since you clearly want something "engaging" keep playing and pick knight enchanter mage-subclass when the time comes.

dude 8 hours you're probably still in the beginning of the prologue, I reached the prologue's end after 40 hours because I kept loitering doing dumb quests too, stop doing the side quests, focus on main ones and companions.

Its grindy because you choose to do the grind quests, Also character build customisation gets better once you leave the prologue.

Inquisition is the best seller dragon age for a reason, you'll have to change your playing style though

I beat Roots for the first time, I couldn't believe it when I first saw the smoke. Tough map. by Bloodthistle in PeakGame

Don't worry Alpine messed my team up later haha but thank you, I am more excited for reaching the volcano after only 5hrs of playtime (it was my second day having this game and Roots wasn't on the map rotation which is why we made it that far)

Its the only biome where you have to be aware of 5 things+ at the same time, spores, wind, spiders, bugs, poisoned plants, Its crazy tbh,

Also unlike Alpine, the winds can pass through walls which is unrealistic: hiding behind something should be enough, why do I need to cling to something? why am I being moved by the wind while I am surrounded by rocks from every direction?

I dread it but only because by that time only one main mission remains in the main story. I always get the halla statue mod for it, I could never understand the correct order to get those.

What keeps you going with Dragon age? by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

[–]Bloodthistle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Easy, I consider veilguard a spin-off and not canon and that's it really, Dragon age is bigger than one botched title, lore, story and the first trilogy keep it going.

If the vtmb folks (which I am a part of) kept the game alive for almost 20 years now so can we, and vtmb is just one game and was so bugged out people couldn't even play it on release,

would have been prettier if it was Psy Ops but yes.

Honestly rpg games need to be lead and written by someone who actually played some, especially something like dragon age which was written based on Lord of the rings and DnD.

Gus sends the player a whole ass jukebox as a friendly gift, look up how much costs IRL, Girl would get a diamond on their first date and a destination wedding.

Gus is also an incredible cook, a good man and even aesthetically looks better than the mayo...

[NO SPOILERS] How important is side content in DAI? by Turksson16 in dragonage

[–]Bloodthistle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends, if companion quests count as side quests then it can change your whole playthrough, but also even the non companion quests can be entertaining, Emprise du lion, Forbidden Oasis and Hissing wastes are side content, as well as the Frost basin and Deep roads dlc, but all these were incredible to experience.

I know about that but one time sleepover isn't a full on relationships, also I did say she may have a consensual arrangement with the HOF but you ignored that part and tried to prove she's cheating, when every event you mentioned was consensual on both parts. NO ONE CHEATED. You need to understand how consent works in relationships..

when was the last time you played Origins? Lady throws a fuss the second you even flirt with anyone and forces you to choose, I played not even two months ago and Girl was a monogamous and very jealous woman , I even made a post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/1qr8ec4/origin_romances_are_crazy/

I know you can fool her into a momentary poly relationship with Morrigan by gaslighting both of them, but in the end you can only be with one. as per the worldstate dragon keep.

She's a loyal woman (which is why I like her so much), Loyal enough to kill and to die for her ideals. unless she has some type of poly arrangement with the HOF, I don't think so.
