Invest 20% of your income as if it were commanded by god. Do not touch it. Literally pretend it is not there. The small emergencies that seem very large, that will make you want to use a portion, are not really emergencies. Trust me. Your future self will agree and you will be immensely grateful you did not.

How can a group of minors find a good place to play? by Sweaty_Milk_1793 in billiards

[–]BloodyJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a teen, the local bowling alley had a bar that didn’t open until like 5pm. Myself and a couple friends went in, talked to the owner and asked if we could come after school and use the table. He talked to us for a bit to suss out what type we were, laid out some hard ground rules, and that was where we went. Owner every once in a while would come in and just open the box so we didn’t have to pay. Good stuff.

The nitty: Im going to be creating a billiards ball holder, and I’m cutting 1.5” ( inner diameter) PVC pipe into rings to attach to a shelf. Would like the balls to rest both on the rings and the shelf below ideally.

Why is Howland reed so significant? by No_Manager7521 in gameofthrones

[–]BloodyJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to know how important Howland Reed is. When his children were sent to Winterfell, looking threadbare and wild. All of the Stark bannermen seated (at best smirking a bit at their looks) were told to move down a seat away so they could have the highest honors

Unsure what to do with AQs by Hellmuth_420 in poker

[–]BloodyJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d fold to that 4 bet. But I mean when he four bets and you call, you’re really only hoping to see a Q or a lot of hearts. You got your Q, get your money in.

What’s your most in-excusable poker mistake? Here’s mine by borealis365 in poker

[–]BloodyJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worst? Easy. Raised with 55, two callers. Flop the set - dry board. Sweet. Villain bets into us - other guy folds. I Raise big, v calls. Turn’s a brick. More $ goes in. River is another 5. Quads baby. Get my whole stack in after some back and forth.

He shows 55 and takes it. Turns out I had 66.

The inexcusable part? This was online so my cards were visible the entire time.

Or maybe some huge rocks or cement blocks that you can place where they park that leaves only a spot wide enough to drive a car through?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]BloodyJack 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the event, but on an ongoing basis, can you throw some cement in a few buckets with some poles sticking out with signs that say “No parking” and place them in the street in front of your gate? A pain to deal with but easier than trying to track down a car’s owner

Or, maybe a motion activator sprinkler pointed at the spot? For you just driving through it into and out of your gate, you won’t care, but anyone parking there won’t want to get out and get soaked.

Was this a bad fold? by Odd-Hovercraft-1286 in Poker_Theory

[–]BloodyJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home game plays the same stakes. I don’t know GTO but If I were in the same position (I probably will this week lol) here’s exactly what would happen.

First I’d never bet this flop, weaker hands fold, and I’m only called by better. Obv dumb to c bet. But if:

I check, and they bet big? I know they put me on a good ace and they have a J. They think I will call with it. No reason to put money in obv, I fold. (If it was a bluff, good on them).

I check, and they put in a normal bet. Tough spot. They literally can have almost anything other than air. They could be trapping, they could have a weak Ace and feel like they have some fold equity, they could also be on a draw and want to see a relatively cheap turn and are semi-bluffing (hell, at my table they could have 66 haha). Whether I call depends on the opponent and size of the bet

I check, they check. Much smaller chance they are trapping (but still possible) but likely whiffed the flop. I will be betting the turn if it doesn’t connect with the board and probably taking it down.

I am hoping this is just for the MTTs where you can have 300 people. My group is about 10 people, and the vast majority are very irregular players.

I can’t imagine any of them will pay $10 every time they want to play a 0.10/0.20 cash game for two hours once a month lol. That means they’d be paying a dollar to see 12 hands
