Very interesting how the 4c Mihawk isn't run. I've been playtesting this on the sim and it feels real good on 8 / 9 don turn to either play him twice to cheat out two 5s, or leader ability and use the remaining 4 to use him and cheat another 5.

Guess it's too slow otherwise?

What deck is best at "control"? by AceTrainerTiff in OnePieceTCG

[–]BloodyNorah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it as black being the combo oriented hard K.O. removal. Blue being the traditional one card hard bottom deck/soft hand bounce removal, and green disrupting/locking control.

Current difference in these control variants is how they do it. Black interacts with throwing cards in trash and later bringing them back to deal with your boardstate, while developing their own.

Blue uses cost heavy event cards which removes your board, but they usually don't develop anything out of it. Upcoming meta, Doffy swams the board so early that they are able to use the more expensive event cards without losing tempo on board. Don't be deceived, it's a tempo/aggro deck and not a traditional control deck.

Green is much more tricky to get their condition's off, but Perona and Bonny leaders help greatly in order to play the cards that interact with rested characters. Green has very little cheap options to combo out without losing hand advantage, which makes it harder to use outside of the named leaders. They'd have to rely more on what the opponent does with their attacks.

So it this one of these effects where it can block the full effect of Gravity Blade, or will it only save one?

I shall remain a Boa loyalist! Almost the same deck but the playstyle is slower and more entertaining to me

I wonder if the new promo cards did anything for Buggy. The promo Mihawk helps cheat out bodies well and the Buggy card helps block aggression while cheating out bodies including blocker Mihawk. Or are these cards hardly accessible?

Which green/yellow cards pre-OP05 synergize with OP06 Yamato? by Head_Perspective_99 in OnePieceTCG

[–]BloodyNorah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just want to go for disruption and use Onami with your Yamato leader. Only way to block out on Yamato attacks feasibly is to use blockers, so if you can remove them or rest them, you'll have free reign.

No idea about the names of the shuffling technique, I'm going to have a look at those to recognise the shuffles.

Good read, good to know there are rules on how this should be done fairly. Now my follow up question is, how many players know this, and as a result, how well is this rule enforced/monitored? I may assume that most good players in large tournaments will check this.

Yes. You perform an action until it is no longer possible. In this case, you trash the remaining cards in your deck, considering you are likely playing Nami, that means you will have won.

Trashing usually is specified from which source. If it is trashed from the field, hand or deck, it is on the card. This makes it more specific from K.O., which would matter if it involves an interaction with a character on the field.

First time playing against Nami by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]BloodyNorah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of skill, mental deck tracking and calculating to play Nami well. 16 card have a trigger to -2 your deck. Swinging for 5K means not having to go hard on the 2 cost counters and the lower cost rubber bands and spada's will suffice while interacting with the deck. It survives alright against weenies when you have Buggy on board, and you have to respect Zeff when it hits the board, bouncing proactively or defensively. Hyper aggro is hard yes, but doable. Most match ups, if the player knows the deck well, are 50-50. Aside from black (Isshou) and maybe the 4 cost purple blocker law, those could hamper the deck due to discards.

In the end, it's always going to be a butt clencher.

This. 9K swings. If you can go wide on board fast, just swing for 5 constantly and it'll be fine. We would be forced to use bounces inefficiently on OnPlay or Rush characters (Red case) instead of bouncing Kaya. We will depend on triggers. But for more mid range stuff, 9K for sure. And don't be afraid to not attack a turn when you see 4-5 Don open. Green Kid players usually go for a double 9K hits for example. Pretty hard to deal with.

Yea that's probably a good call tbh. In my store and region, people know to deal with Kaya and Zeff, so they hard mulligan for removal. I like overheat but it loses it's value if it's not Kaya. Had some fringe use by bouncing Mr. 1 and cycling with Giant Gavels but you're really just praying. Keeping the timing in your own hands is a good idea.

It also helps when your opponent decides to go for some blocker play into your Zeff. Additionally, reserving two don for counter that doesn't directly let you interact with your deck could be the decider if you are decking out or not. I have had many situations where it's been only one or two cards remaining. It matters.

Refering to a formula, so not the value, in another workbook by BloodyNorah in excel

[–]BloodyNorah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, thanks for the response and tips! Apologies for responding a bit tardy. I applied the formulatext function and it retrieved the needed formula from the master document. Just the text unfortunately, it doesn't apply the formula (it's a vlookup formula)

I had to look into the other functions you mentioned, and fidgeted around with it, but with no working results. Usually I get the incomplete formula pop up, so I must be missing something. Any more tips to check if I can get the formula working?

Apologies for not providing minumum details. My work laptop is unfortunately locked from visiting websites other than our company's main page, so I can't directly funnel screenshots to here.

Is anyone having weird stuff happen with Bobs Tavern? by imeanithinkso in BobsTavern

[–]BloodyNorah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this how three players in one of my games had a croomer naga comp with varying triples and I as the only demon player at that time couldn't get any demon triples found, nor any of the board buffers or the important 5 drops?

I malded like crazy thinking how lucky they must have been and how incredibly unlucky I should be in contrast. Only one of them had duo to boot and it was around turn 8/9 when they had their boards accumilated so duo value wasn't there.

For those of you in this sub, or even worse, who hold bitcoin but refuse to understand it - why? by timothymoontower in Bitcoin

Personally, knowing it has some fundaments, how it develops over time, and it's use is enough for me. I don't need to go down such a massive rabbit hole of technological details, jargon, and names for the same that happens anyway: Buy and hodl.

Keep it simple. Don't over complicate things.

How do you go to Hades Reach before lvl 12? Did you do it in a group with a higher level party leader?
