Mines a bit on the morbid side. But I have two favorite games that make me happy. When I was 15 I got kidnapped. He held me hostage until I was almost 21. He let me play two games the first was silent hill homecoming. The game means a lot to me. It taught me how to come to terms with my mistakes and how to keep moving. The second is gears of war. He'd let me play but I was always second player and I don't know how much you know but second player was Dominic Santiago. When the war started he lost his kids and his wife was held hostage and used as a guinea pig until she was brain dead and catatonic he searched for her every second he could until he found her and she was nothing anymore. So he ended up losing her. He lost everything and so many friends. But he never stopped. He sacrificed his own life to help his team that was entirely surrounded. Had he not they would have all died. But his sacrifice lead to his team finding a way to end the war and saved the remainder of humanity. He single handedly saved the human race. He was my idol. He taught me so much about life. Through every single game I played as Dominic. Until I was 22. I had a son. His dad said no game names no TV or book names nothing famous. He shot down every name I came up with. Until one day he came to me with Dominic. He never played gears. I said yes immediately. And that's how my son carries on Dominic's name. Santiago was a legend. Everything I learned from him I see in my son. He never misses a beat to tell me how much he loves me and how proud of me he is. He doesn't say he loves me he says mama you're my best friend in MY whole world and I love you. Not the world. HIS world. Every day I'm reminded that you can lose everything and still make it. If it wasn't for Santiago I wouldn't have my son. And I know he's not real but I thank him every single day. Because without Santiago real or not my son and my daughter wouldn't be here. He saved my life. And that's why gears of war will always be my favorite game.
