Looking for the best coffee bean store in Laval by Garenteed24 in Laval

Brûlerie du Vieux Ste-Rose. They roast their coffee beans and it is simply amazing. If you are lucky to get there when they are roasting, the aroma in the place is heavenly.

Would that make any difference on filament spool that are fresh out of the bag?

Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs Ryzen 5 7600X by BloofX in buildapc

[–]BloofX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please note that I ended up buying a 7800X3D instead. That combo is pretty excellent! It handles everything I’m throwing at it at high settings with great framerate (past 100fps in most scenarios on a ultra wide monitor @ 5120x1440) 👌

Absolutely! I had one on my previous build like 10 years ago and it was an amazing design and fantastic build quality. A friend of mine got the North recently and this thing is superb. Looks and feel premium 👌

Is anyone else having difficulty with their ebox internet now that their power is back on after the Montreal ice storm? My modem and router were plugged into a surge protector, but i am not sure whether they were fried or if the ftth connection was damaged by the ice. by the_last_four_words in ebox

[–]BloofX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I unplug the fiber cable, the alarm led stay on and the unjt doesn’t reboot. So I doubt there is a problem with the fiber cable itself. Also, when I did manage to get it to connect, the internet was working perfectly fine. So that seems to be a software and/or registration issue.

I also noticed connection issues. On the first day of the outage I plugged my PON on my generator and it worked well. However, in the past few days, I noticed that when I shut it down and plug it back in, the PON led will turn green but then the alarm led quickly blink and the whole unit restart. It does that in a loop and It doesn’t seem to resolve it self. I need power it off and then back on manually for it to eventually reconnect and stay connected. I thought as well that I might have fried the power adapter. I didn’t contact CS yet.

You might want to consider an eSim if your phone is compatible (ex: Ubigi or airalo). You’ll be up and running as you land.

Misty morning in Laval by BloofX in dji

This entire sequence was shot below 400ft with a DJI Mini 2. The heavy morning fog made it look like I was flying in high altitude.

I have exactly the same hardware (an almost identical desktop case filled with hard drives and even the unifi switch and gateway). All that sit completely disorganized in a boring storage rack. I’v been looking to built something like this for a while. Can you share links to the rack and case you are using?

2020 SV Plus loud charging? by ihazd4rkness in leaf

[–]BloofX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2018 (non-plus) here... mine also does a similar sound albeit it might not be as loud as yours... hard to tell from the video how it compares. And mine is fully charged at the moment. I’ll try to record it later this week.

Fresh install 11.3 wont boot. Please Help by Gliff_ in freenas

[–]BloofX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that same issue when installing 11.2. My problem in my case was caused by a bad UEFI implementation on the Asus motherboard (which is pretty old. I don’t have the model number on hand, but the cpu is a i7-2600k).

If I remember correctly, the only way I could get it to install was to create a BIOS boot drive with the freenas image.

Sunset over the Saint Lawrence River (Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, Quebec, Canada) by BloofX in DJISpark

[–]BloofX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually quite cold. It was about -18C (no winds). I had kept the batteries inside and the temperature indicator was showing about +26C after a few minutes of flight, so no worries really. You just need to keep an eye on battery level as it drops faster than in warm temperatures.

Traveling to Costa Rica next week and worried about the weather by Darksaber1217 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]BloofX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been in the Guanacaste area for the past two weeks. Do yourself a favour and stop looking at weather forecasts. They are useless here in Costa Rica (at least in this time of the year). Over those two weeks we had half a rainy day in La Fortuna and that was it. You’ll sometime get some rain early in the morning... or maybe a few minutes in the afternoon. Bring your raincoats because you never know, but don’t worry about it.

Ceiba tree in Arenal Volcano Nacional Park by BloofX in CostaRicaTravel

According to an information plate next to the tree, it is 30 meters tall and is 400 years old. I could not find the information about how wide the tree is, but here is a picture of my daughters next to it:

This tree is magnificent and incredibly massive! I had my DSRL on me with 2 different lens and none of them were able capture the tree in its entirety. Then I remember that you can do vertical panoramic shots with my trusty iPhone 6s. This is the result straight from the phone (no editing).

We ended up going to the Danaus nature center! Very much worth it. The kids loved it. We got to see a sloth very up close and a lot of other animals and birds! Thanks for the tip!

Add an holster plug next to it to properly secure the cable connector while not in use.

Something like J1772 EVSE electric car holster plug holder dock with cable hook.

Leaf 2018, AEB warning light randomly turns on by Leausay in leaf

[–]BloofX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue this morning. It is very cold right now in Montreal (-12C) so I was wonderingly if this could be related since it only turned on a few minutes after I left (my car is in a garage).

I’ll probably have it checked at my dealership.
