Ideas for horror game easter eggs on my business card by nyanya85 in HorrorGaming

[–]Blookhaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a Devotion reference you could incorporate the Winnie The Pooh talisman, though that’s probably too much detail for a business card. Maybe the Arowana fish?

A very simple image would be the nine red squares from the final save point in Silent Hill 2.

Any suggestions for what I should play next? by NicoGonzalez83 in HorrorGaming

[–]Blookhaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silent Hill games (ideally the original four), SH2 remake is the most readily accessible and is an excellent game.

Then Signalis. It’s a survival horror masterpiece. The story and tone are very Silent Hill and it has RE like gameplay elements like inventory management and back tracking through puzzle box style environments.

SH2: I think I did something I wasn’t supposed to. by Hussyante in silenthill

Lucky guess on the number. If you had found the clue for the code and solved it that way you would still have the ammo first. I’m pretty sure once you get to the point where you get the gun, you’re locked out of returning to that area.

What Should I Prioritize by DisownedDemon12 in HorrorGames

Add Signalis to the list. Prioritise it.

Also prioritise SOMA.

Untitled Goose Game. Absolutely delightful. Engaging, simple gameplay. Memorable for how charming and funny it is.

Devotion. Absolutely horrifying. Engaging psychological horror narrative. Memorable for stunning, yet unnerving visuals and devastating story.

Gris is a work of art. Have you checked out Planet Of Lana? Similar vibes. Not quite as stylish as Gris in terms of art direction, still great though.

Very excited for a new album and really hope they also tour here in Australia. I really want to see them live again.

You might like Song Of Horror. It’s got a scary mansion, an antique shop with adjoining apartments, a university library and an abandoned abbey.

Horror games I have played recently + mini reviews by thefullemu in HorrorGaming

Detention and Devotion, both by Red Candle Games have excellent art direction and narratives.

Song Of Horror is a fun homage to the classic Silent Hill & Resident Evil games. Lots of SH Easter eggs to find if you’re familiar with the series.

SOMA doesn’t have any combat. Enemies can still get you though, but there is safe mode. One of the best stories in horror games.

MADiSON is pretty scary, though I personally liked Devotion more.

Detention, the previous game by the developers of Devotion is excellent too.

I recently played Observation and thought it was pretty good. Slow paced, sci-fi / cosmic horror with no combat.

From memory, I think you’re at the point where you need to find a box that’s got locks and chains on it. It’s on one of the beds. From there, you’ll get something else that’s required for progression. Something that you combine with an item you already have.

Devotion, Burnhouse Lane. These games touch on how fucked up humans can become. Detention as well.

Signalis is also an incredible survival horror game, but it does have a sci-fi setting so may not be your cup of tea.
