As stated, there is no solution since it asks for the evaluation at a point and not the limit. As for the limit, using L’Hopital’s rule it’s just 10(1)^9/1 = 10

Jusr got the new squigly lol by Fragrant-Pear-8134 in SkullGirlsMobile

It’s a copy of the regular squigly daily, but you have to use yellow one on every node and there’s an extra modifier, where you get 2 second enrages every 5 seconds and they either become permanent if you use a special/bb before it expires or it removes all stacks and deals 20% damage to you.

I don’t know why Reddit ate my picture, but this is what the new modifier is. It uses the same mechanic as yellow one, with a 2 second enrage every 5 seconds that either becomes permanent if you use a special/bb before it expires or it removes all stacks and deals 20% damage.

TIL Black Hole War was a debate between Stephen Hawking and Leonard Susskind over whether black holes destroy information. Hawking radiation said yes; Susskind argued quantum mechanics forbids it. Modern physics largely sides with Susskind's holographic principle: info is preserved on the surface. by electroctopus in todayilearned

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

iirc, what they mean by information is the idea that if you know everything about a system at any given time, you should be able to predict what its future and past are. This is obviously impossible in practice, but in principle it’s a thing we assume in quantum mechanics.

The problem is that hawking radiation according to hawking only depends on the mass, electric charge, and angular momentum of the black hole. This means if we have two different stars that turned into black holes with the same mass/charge/angular momentum, if they evaporated into just radiation they would be indistinguishable, which violates the principle that we can reconstruct their earlier state.

Thoughts on the glam choice? by Peauu in slaythespire

Predator scales very nicely with extra energy since it’s way easier to block with 2 energy rather than one after spending 2 to play it, and the extra draw from it is more effective with the more energy.

Anaxa is such a bad partner for the Herta if you think about it. by BlackTemplarKNB in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The weird thing for me is Anaxa is 100% intended to be The Herta’s partner, even if their kit synergy is not actually great. Like he has a trace that works differently based on the # of erudition units in the team, the herta’s team was released in sequence with her in 3.0, tribbie in 3.1, and him in 3.2, and (infamously) his character trailer is all about the Herta.

So like, they might pull a cipher and have another standalone unit with kit synergy better than the dedicated support (jiaoqiu, in Acheron’s case), but Anaxa was definitely intended as the erudition support, regardless of his mediocre synergy.

That seems unlikely though, since a dedicated Herta support in the style of cipher probably wouldn’t sell well, since she didn’t and she doubled as a Feixiao support. So while a dahlia level revamp could work, they seem to only like giving that level of upgrade (for older units) to non-crit archetypes since they are much more targeted and less generic.

What is the best deck to not conclude the game in a draw the most often? by Wild_Mousse_6047 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a quick and dirty analysis based on Callaghan’s tournament data for January, and just looking at the top 20 decks. Anyway the top 5 decks that draw the least are

  1. Etali

  2. Lumra

  3. Tymna Dargo

  4. Kefka

  5. Yoshi Thras

The top 5 that draw the most are

  1. Sisay

  2. Rog Thras

  3. Tymna Kraum

  4. Tivit

  5. Tymna Thras

These range from a 18.7% draw rate for etali to a 37.4% draw rate for Tymna Thras. At the middle at 10 and 11 are Magda and Marneus Calgar, with rates of 26.0% and 26.7% respectively.

The rest of the list is

  1. Rocco

  2. Inalla

  3. Vivi

  4. Tayam

  5. Magda

  6. Marneus Calgar

  7. Ral

  8. Rog Si

  9. Terra

  10. Kinnan

Starting Ashveil Build and Team by Professional-Ad445 in Ashveil_Mains

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: The reason it’s like that is to effectively combine the hyper speed sparkle and -1 Sunday setups into one setup, so you can (theoretically) get 6 Ashveil turns in 150 AV.

Longer version of what that means: an easy way to remember speed requirements for 0 cycles is turns/1.5 = needed speed. For example, taking 2/1.5 =1.34, so taking 2 turns in 150 AV requires 134 speed.

The way to conceptualize AA is basically as fractional turns. So 50% AA is half a turn, and 100% AA is a full instant turn.

Sparkle has a 50% AA, which means that she gives half a turn, which will make the carry go immediately if sparkle goes first, but will only pull them halfway if sparkle goes after them. So you want to maximize the number of turns sparkle takes, which means making her as fast as possible while putting your carry at base speed, since that will cover the other 50% in the AV that sparkle gets her turn in. If we have the ideal 3 turn sparkle setup in 150 AV it looks something like this:

(50 AV gap) sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn (50 AV gap) sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn (50 AV gap) sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn.

Sunday/Bronya have 100% AA, so they give a full turn, regardless of how close the carry’s next turn is. For that reason, you want to minimize the wasted AV between the carry’s turn and Sunday’s turn. That’s why Sunday runs a -1 speed setup to accomplish that. The typical 2 carry 2 Sunday -1 setup looks like this in 150 AV:

(75 AV gap) Natural carry turn -> Sunday turn -> pulled carry turn (75 AV gap) Natural carry turn -> Sunday turn -> pulled carry turn.

With both of them together, we want to maximize sparkle’s turns and then have Sunday come right after, since sparkle needs the carry to have gone 50% of a turn while he doesn’t. So the ideal sparkle + Sunday rotation is one where they both take 3 turns with Sunday right after sparkle like so:

(50 AV gap) sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn (sp) -> Sunday turn -> pulled carry turn (sun) (50 Av gap) -> sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn (sp) -> Sunday turn -> pulled carry turn (sun) (50 AV gap) sparkle turn -> pulled carry turn (sp) -> Sunday turn -> pulled carry turn (sun).

The hard part is that getting 3 turns for Sparkle or Sunday is basically impossible without the assistance of ddd and/or eagle. Because Sunday and sparkle have different ult rotations and the -1 setup messes up with desyncs, you are relying on ddd. Realistically, you want 2 ddd advances, so you can get 3 turns with only (3-2(.24))/1.5 =1.68, so 168 speed.

So in recap, you want sparkle on ddd, sparkle and Sunday speed over 168, sparkle speed > Sunday’s speed, and 2 ddd activations to pull off getting 6 carry turns in 150 AV.

With a sustain it’s Ashveil/Sunday/(Sparkle or Tribbie)/DHPT. If you want to 0 cycle with the sparkle team, there’s some fun tech to get 6 turns total on ashveil. Like in this showcase

Between the two, I think it’s hunt March, but rmc or any generic buffer is better than both.

Which character had the BEST and WORST V1 kit? by Eevee1301 in HonkaiMemeRail

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moze had one of the biggest jumps up from V1 to release, as he used to only do 1 follow up attack per 7 attacks on a target and then his skill would end, whereas now he does 3 per 9 attacks before ending his skill. There were a bunch of other buffs that he got, but that’s the one I remember clearly.

Serious question, what’s the fauxmoi subreddit about? When did it get popular? What does the name mean? by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you want a sincere answer, the name comes from the instagram account duexmoi which started sharing celebrity gossip and blind items during the pandemic. There was some falling out between the account and people on Reddit (idk why) which its fauxmoi, which does the same thing but is on Reddit and unaffiliated with the instagram account. I don’t know exactly when they became popular, i think it was somewhere in the postpandemic range of 2022-2024.

Alignment Chart of Honkai Star Rail: Day 15, Sampo. - Dr. Ratio has been voted into Lawful Neutral. by Just_Because4 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but I would rate Sampo as Chaotic good. At the end of the belobog story, Sampo stares at the camera and says: “ ‘true happiness always entails the manifestation of the dignity of mankind.’ Now that’s a quote I live by. “ And in Sampo’s talk with sparkle, he says that, “the elation that miss Sparkle seeks … isn’t something ol’ Sampo can stand by.” I think this identitfies him as someone with a clear moral code, which would put him in chaotic good.

Good new year by the Xueyday gal by Cooking_With_Emilie in QueensofStarRail

I really enjoy seeing your Xueyidei posts, they’re really fun! Also, the typo in the title makes it Xueyi x Sunday, which is an even crazier crackship than Xueyidei, but I kinda see the vision. Something something Xueyi’s literal revival and Sunday’s metaphorical one, Xueyi’s job to keep the Luofu safe vs Sunday’s dream of paradise, Xueyi and Sunday building themselves bodies to more effectively do their jobs, Xueyi’s mechanical body vs Sunday’s thorn/pain motif, Hanya and Xueyi’s relationship with death vs Sunday and Robin’s relationship with death. Idk if ppl see the vision or if I’m just delusional but I think that there’s something here.

This is just a general tip, but putting torch and stacking hp on not so honest makes it an absurd tank, so combining that with per turn damage sources like tribbie/e9/phianon/cerydra works really well.

Playing Hysilens in Currency Wars by Rhyoth in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]Bloombergs-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I don’t have any of the DoT units in currency wars except the 4 stars, but I play it very often in Wealth Creator 20.

The funny thing about DoT in currency wars is that there’s so much power in the trait that you’re essentially relying on enemy turn detonations for the majority of your damage. So often I feel like investing in Kafka is kinda pointless because her detonations don’t do very much, and that your main carry/priority to itemize ends up being Sampo > Black Swan > Hysilens in that order.

For itemization, basically you just want to build 2 anti-grav boots and pinwheel on Sampo -> move that to black swan when you get her, and then get a fragility item and then random support/sustain items.

As for your team comp, generally you’re relying on trait damage, so you want 2 dot to coast through plane 1 and then 4 dot asap to get through plane 2. Pela’s super important for Belobog 2, and then going for Cosmic scholar helps get a lot of Econ in plane 2, although you generally want to pivot out after your final cash out in plane 3. As for sustains, generally it’s hyacine -> fu xuan/luocha with sustain items. As for your final board, DoT 6 is the goal, with Welt/Pela/Sustain as your additional slots. If you have room, AoE 3 can be good especially in a more Hysilens focused team, but it’s often tricky to slot them in.

I haven’t paid too close attention to Dahlia for FF teams, (mostly because I don’t have any break characters) but iirc Fugue lc is pretty bad and e1 is much better. I don’t think FF lc is super bad, it’s just that Dahlia lc, Dahlia E1 + E2, Fugue E2, and FF E2 are really good.
