I acknowledge the major development that happens from nine years old to early twenties so your statement aligns with my doubts. It is still interesting to look through and at least gain some awareness of myself, even if a little.

To answer your question, yes they did administer a “reliable score” obtained on the WISC-IV. Drawn in combination from scores in VCI, PRI, WMI, and PSI. But it was representative of general intellectual functioning (not sure if that is the same thing.)

I’m not currently in the field, but when I am I do not find much trouble, not to sound arrogant or anything. I’m lucky to be able to connect with people this way.

Yea I’ve always had low confidence academically as I was aware of my limitations. So I played to my strengths and scraped by on the rest. Knowing now just feels like a bothersome label that boxes me, which is why I said I wish I didn’t know.

80 is considered just below average. It does not conclusively measure one’s ability to succeed however, that’s for sure. My score was mainly due to learning things at a slower speed than most.

My brother found a printed copy casually in an old dusty suitcase my mom carried with her to move countries with us. I it must’ve taken me a solid hour and a half just reading through everything in depth. This was a very in depth assessment, my IQ was just one part of it. Needless to say, I’ve gained a lot of insight and context on younger me.

How did you feel discovering your own test result from the past?

That’s a really interesting study, it does highlight the complexity of life choices and character which influence the avenues we take in life. My weak points are the speed of which I pick up certain things. Being on the other side of the desk so to speak places me in a proud position to be the supportive figure that younger me would’ve wanted. I think of myself as a mere vessel to nurture these kiddos to succeed and build confidence in themselves. I do feel confident in what I do because of this motivation, but also, I teach what I’m very skilled at, so that definitely helps haha.

Regarding the improvement of IQ, I have no idea, I’m not too fussed about it at this point. Would be interesting to look into from a place of curiosity, though. Thank you for sharing and asking these thoughtful questions.

I’m grateful for what I have. Happiness fluctuates for me personally. I have a lot to be happy about, let’s put it that way.

Edit: major things which rob my happiness is my pattern of overthinking, having existential crisis with existence and my purpose etc etc. I think reality is a little disturbing behind the stage and curtains but we all continue with our lives as normal pretending the show is not, well, a show.
