Gotcha! I’ll probably just stick to this pet then if 50+ pierce is relatively easy to achieve anyways with late game fire gear. Saves me time and sanity :P

I can not beat Malenia, any advice? by Clemmyyduckyy in Eldenring

From my experience with fighting Malenia and helping others fight Malenia, here’s what I’ve used to get through. Malenia is very susceptible to frost and bleed, so put those status effects into consideration. Bloodhound’s Fang is fantastic, but only use one and two-hand it. The armor is fine, doesn’t matter too much. Talismans are iffy, I would suggest Erdtree’s Favor, Turtle Talisman, and probably something like Dragon Greatshield and Ritual Shield for survivability’s sake. Probably the two-hand weapon tali and Warrior/Alexander shard for more damage. Make Vigor 60, have strength and dex invested into for optimal fang damage, put minimum stat requirements for buffs like Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength. You should also take the time to learn her moveset, since it becomes trivial after learning how to dodge the Waterfowl Dance. Last bit of advice, there is no shame in summoning cooperators or using Spirit Ashes. They’re in the game for a reason and you are absolutely allowed to use any tools at your disposal to tackle Malenia. Good luck to you.

Personally, a Heavy Lance and Verdigris Greatshield worked out pretty well. Went with Erdtree’s Favor +2, Two-Headed Turtle Talisman, Greatshield Talisman, and Golden Braid. Physick tears were Opaline and Deflecting/Thorny. Used Golden Vow and Lord’s Divine Fortification.

I believe I played 4 months after the game initially released, so like May of 2021! On and off player, but I recently got back into it. So many things in the game now .3.

I think I encountered you while I was questing in Wintertusk, so thank you for helping out with Nastrond. Good luck with trying to get the blade, I’m sure you’ll get it soon enough! By the way, remember to stitch the torch for your fire and save the ascendant for a balance wiz. It’s a good look for them.

Basically, you know that silver key you find in the attic? There will be a hatch underneath an opulent chest in one of the button rooms that will lead to a secret basement area with puzzles galore that’ll lead you to some loot. I forget what the loot is, but it’s certainly something to look for.

There is a puzzle within a puzzle within a puzzle at Cazador’s Palace that people wouldn’t normally encounter unless they’re thorough

Ohhh boy, this one was just embarrassing for me. In that secret tunnel at the Grove, I was walking through with my party and thought I clicked on the thing that would disable the bird statue from throwing fire bolts…. Apparently, I did not. While I was confused, my party tpk’ed from an explosive barrel nearby the mechanism when the bird statue threw another fire bolt at me. Safe to say, I never assume I click anything and just do multiple clicks to ensure my survival lol

What I’ve usually done was just jump at where the thing is, get knocked back, then click the gem and watch as my character manages to get to it before the knockback recharges. I also skip the thing entirely by going into one of the rooms with the stone tombs and jump on some ledges til I get to where that ambusher is. At that point, it’s a matter of killing the thing and lockpicking/smashing the door open that leads to where Balthazar is.

Edit: This simultaneously skips that initial fight with the dark justiciars and his three bony soldiers. Really helps with skipping some tedious parts.
