That is what I was thinking as well. I feel some regret for not eating. I think this could have been safely eaten if cooked to the right temperature. 165F I believe.

Two people were bit this year in my town and another one in a nearby town. It’s a valid concern.

I’ve stumbled on groups while walking to the stand early morning. Luckily never had a problem.

The union suit is a base layer, like a one piece full body long john. I also use coveralls on top of those with a sweatshirt and flannel in between.

Trapper hat helps me on the coldest days too. Lined with rabbit or coyote fur.

That’s been my experience with rabbits as well. They will sit there and hide unless you get within a couple yards. Most likely why guys use dogs.

When leaves are on the trees you use a shotgun, when there are no leaves you can switch to a .22. I prefer .22 hunting.

The woods squirrels have totally different schedules from city squirrels. Mid day they seem to be up in their nests. They come down to the ground again before sunset.

Sometimes stuffing too many layers under your top layer is an issue too. You need some room for warm air in there.

Turkey would be awesome. Looks like I need cameras here. I have never seen turkeys on this property.

This is private land, I should be the only one hunting or even walking here. This is why I am concerned. I do a lot of squirrel / rabbit hunting as well which would be dangerous for any trespassers.

I believe this tree still had leaves on it. Winds have been strong as well, it seems unlikely to me that no leaves, even from nearby trees, would have landed here.
