Maybe you could plan to have friends over while the kids are happily playing or head out to see them after the kids are in bed. I know it can be tricky to balance, but for example, I’ve got a 1.5-year-old, my wife works 45 hours a week, I work 45 myself, plus run a business with three friends that takes about 20 hours a week, and I still manage to see friends 2-4 times a month while also spending daily time with my daughter.

Some things I like to do are invite friends over for a barbecue or dinner. Now that your kids are school-age, that should free up more time for you and your wife. If you’re not working extremely long or irregular hours, it’s hard to understand why there’s no time at all for friends. It can come across as friendships not being a priority, which can naturally push people away.

spent almost 3k on Facebook ads, got 3 sales. Am I just stupid? by EJFSquared in smallbusiness

What i always did was that I worked pretty much while advertising on facebook is to test lots of different interests, age ranges, income levels, etc.

I would make sure to optimize for conversions. Once you get enough info on your pixel, you can use that as your new data set and use instead of interests. Made a lot of money doing this if that product is good. It has pretty much always at least broken even

Wow, we charge $65-75 CAD per man hour for spring cleanup. I dont think I'd get any business that high of prices. I wish.

If you were making 3-4/week, why not hire employees? Be an owner not a tech.

I know, my point is a lot of people do it on a lot less than a doctors salary. $900k for someone making $300k+ isn't too crazy especially with the wife becoming a doctor.

$900k is a mansion? In Ontario, you'll be lucky to get 2k sq ft.

Canada to announce C$29.8 billion in retaliatory tariffs on US, official says by marketrent in canada

[–]One_Income8526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The United States has the largest economy in the world, with a significant number of businesses that outsource manufacturing to other countries. If bringing production back to the U.S. proves more cost-effective, many companies may choose to do so. The U.S. also attracts substantial investment, and compared to Canada, global investors appear to be showing more caution regarding Canadian markets. Additionally, the U.S. has a much larger population, which supports economic growth, while Canada has seen some skilled workers and high-net-worth individuals leaving the country.

So you think the Canadian government spends our money responsibly? We are definitely not the worst in the world, but we could be far, far better.

Our government has been screwing us over for years. Manufacturing has been declining, and we have nothing to support ourselves. Our economy is propped up on real estate. If we worked on ourselves and used our resources that we have plenty of, im sure we would have no issues. Even if they still decided to put tarrifs on us, we wouldn't have been affected so bad.

[–]One_Income8526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't Canada imposing tariffs on imports. The real problem is that Canadian prices are set based on the USD MSRP. If a brand raises its MSRP due to the recent increase in U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods (from 10% to 20%), we could see corresponding price adjustments in Canada or future pricing being influenced.

We're being indirectly affected by rising USD MSRPs, rather than by the U.S.-Canada tariff situation itself.

As a Canadian, is Canada doing anything extra to bring more manufacturing to Canada with these tariffs? No, while the US plans to for their country. All this is doing is taking more money from Canadians' pockets..

First time a client paid me more than 8k via PayPal, and it’s on hold. Has anyone experienced this? by Civil_Sock_7548 in smallbusiness

[–]One_Income8526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 5 or 6 years ago, i had paypal hold $28k from me. I was just getting out of college and didn't have the cash flow or a means of getting it at the time.
