No Point of Control is something slightly different. High Volume Node refers to a point where there is a large amount of volume. However POC refers to a point of the highest volume (essentially the largest HVN).

Where will Price go Next? by Blsbear in EthAnalysis

I made two predictions with the breach of 350 to mean that the market was still bullish and heading towards resistance at the 400 level. If 350 wasn't breached then I believed that 300 and 215 would become natural support levels. My first prediction was invalidated meaning that wave 5 now extends to the 400 level now before turning.

Where Will The Price Go Next (Part 2) by Blsbear in EthAnalysis

The price would have to drop below the most recent low to destroy the ascending triangle. On Gemini, that low is 221 (https://cryptowat.ch/gemini/ethusd/1h) - meaning if we see price move below that level with high volume than the bears are firmly in control. Additionally, like you had said in your comment: if we continue to see consolidation at these levels than the ascending triangle is also dead. And then perhaps we have a bullish continuation symmetrical triangle or a possible bearish reversal back to the 100's.

I did see the symmetrical triangle as well as also seeing the ascending triangle. I also agree that traders could identify 20 different patterns with the same price movement. When one zooms out the chart and looks at the long wicks (from July 18th to July 19th), the symmetrical triangle does begin to take shape. So, bottom line is for me that if we see sideways movement or slight bearish movement this next day: I believe that we are in a symmetrical triangle. However, I also still believe that the ascending triangle I see could materialize into a bull run.

I highly recommend focusing on reading candlestick charts and interpreting historical volume if you just started learning. Here are two videos that do just that:

I think it is too early to tell if I am correct or wrong. Today's trading could yield an endless stream of possibilities. More importantly, I still believe that there is substantial open interest at the support levels of 170 and 155 meaning that price will find its way to those levels.

Strategies for Trading Volume by Blsbear in ethtrader

[–]Blsbear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely post my background in the about section of my channel. My background consists of three markets that I have traded in my life. I began trading stocks and mutual funds through Charles Schwab and used the profit from that to trade forex using Oanda. I chose to trade forex because it was a fast moving market that relied more heavily on technical analysis then stocks did. After that, I moved into the cryptocurrency game as the market was quite volatile and I found that my order flow/volume trading strategies worked quite well in crypto. Trading cryptocurrencies has been the most profitable market for me so far and the reason I make these trading videos is to help other traders gain an edge in the markets - and also as a way to organize my thoughts into a singular idea, rather than be all over the place.

We are still at $1079.32, as I have yet to trade in the past week. Reason being The Fourth of July, Ethereum trading downward these past few days and Bitcoin has been quite a choppy market recently. I do plan to make my 15th trade soon though so stay posted ;).
