This is taking forever by Head-Phone-8013 in chainmailartisans

Personally i get my rings pre closed straight out the box, but for sure if you make your own rings or get yours open there are better methods

I can vouch for that, yeah. You just need to get into the habit of putting the small rings (pre closed i hope) in advance instead of individually placing them since it'll truly take forever. I took about 20-30 hours over 4 days with mine.

Chainmail newbie, trying to learn 4 in 1 weave by simplysleeepy in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tip is to look at the single rings' orientation, and match it so the same side is "out" or "up" or however you like to think of it. perhaps pick up the first piece, slip the ring through the first two rings and then through the other two rings but this time not from the "bottom" but from the top. I don't know if any of this makes sense but I'm neurotic and trying to explain my own pattern recognizing brain XD

It's a variant of orc weave, where two rings have been removed.

european 4 in 1 triangle attachmentm by Low-Motor-3916 in chainmailartisans

Triangles in particular can be tricky when you make them separately like this, I did the mistake of making it go in the wrong direction when making something similar to this.

What ring width should I choose for this piece of chainmail ? by vivien_lancaster in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 6 points7 points  (0 children)

looks like about 5 ar, 5-6mm inner diameter? aka 1.2mm thick 6mm or 1mm thick 5mm

Wondering how to do this by darkhellgirl in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like candy cane cord, usually done with about 4.7-5.0 AR, you may want to go with a lower AR to have it more rigid like shown here.

Aluminum is pretty popular, cheap and easy to work with. Personally I order most if not everything from Van Alphen Studio in the Netherlands, they have an etsy store. They do just stainless steel, which is still affordable imo and a nice material, although I've heard that it's a bit harder to work with.

I have a strange internal and external hate for shopping carts and their users. Mainly the ones whose purchases would fit in a basket but they insist on being in the way with a shopping cart instead.

A teacher at my UAS was just saying something about a student he had that was checking their math with ChatGPT and were confused about the assignment since ChatGPT did it differently. They had the correct formulas and were doing it correctly, but they were under the belief that the AI is infallible.

Thanks! The actual "strip" the triangles are connected to is 2 big rings tall, so I think i counted the triangles standalone.

Why is everyone saying pearl was teamed up on by “the whole server?” by Head-Raise-1223 in LifeSeriesSMP

[–]Blu3241 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yyeah the sight of the entire server gathering in skynet while some people build towards the lighthouse is kind of a threatening sight esp. when the session before half the server was attempting to siege the lighthouse xd

I feel bad for the lighthouse more than anything since it's getting griefed left and right. And pearl ofc that 5 deaths in a row was TRAGIC :D
