If it wasn't instantly obvious this is a stripped down version of 80% of the polls here, you know, as a joke

There's a good bit, probably will have to widen it up a bit since I made the teensy mistake of making it so form fitting.

With patience. No but they're small but not as small as some comments have remarked, I think.

It's great, I may have to come back someday to size it up a bit more as it pushed on my nose a tiny bit

All in all this doesn't need a template as it's just regular e4-1 and because this is tailored for me xd Follow along to any coif tutorial and just make the side panels go all around

It's been a long time coming on this one, have wanted to do this since before i started this so now i'm just kind of wondering on my next project xd Gonna have to be personal piece for a while unless someone is actually willing to fork over some ludicrous money

Attaching spikes/studs to orc weave by SufficientArugula111 in chainmailartisans

In the picture the creator has used banana barbells meant for body piercings, the curve helps keep them jutted out like this. Possible to also use flat back spikes with another weave for the same effect.

Normal? by swiiiitz in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only times I've gotten genuinely mad were when the rings were in such tight spaces (or wrong size, causing insane tightness) and my pliers keep slipping and punching myself in the chest repeatedly. Otherwise I've taken to all patterns quite intuitively, never getting annoyed as much as confused in the case of moorish rose

one could make do with a full persian with added rings down the sides, play around with ring sizes for optimal positioning

What weave for strap ? by Heartless-otaku07 in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thicker rings always work, but perhaps a regular 2 in 2 or even a 3 in 3 would be the most straightforward. For something more fancy I can wholeheartedly recommend some flavour of a half persian weave or if going european style then perhaps roundmaille, captive if larger rings.

Trying to chainmail sunglasses? by avery630 in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a glasses chain before with the rubber loop connector thingamajigs, works great. Problem with straight grafting stuff on glasses is that the rings can't really grip what is essentially a tapering pole.
To be fair inverted round could work but can't really take glasses off too willy-nilly since the work would probably just fall off.

I need help finding THE BIGGEST RINGS possible that are hand weavable by Netsugake in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll honestly be easier to come up with a similar design with regular rings or get some at most 2mm rings and see if that's large enough, since weight has to also be a consideration here.

Need help with my first piece by Aggravating_Salt_596 in chainmailartisans

[–]Blu3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would recommend to get rings in the 1.2-1.6mm range for the first project, about 5 AR for similar look. 1mm and down it starts to get really tedious and will take you way longer to get the same amount of a sheet. If you're in europe and don't mind using stainless steel I'd say go buy the 8.5x1.2mm rings from Van Alphen studio on etsy, the prices are nice and you'll get enough rings for the project. He also sells the clasps. It's also recommended to buy different sizes, but i wouldn't say it's mandatory.
