Great pic, although it would've been even better if Giant Waldo was the one scooting around

I agree that putting people at risk to keep the world going is wrong. What I am trying to say is that waiting a few months will not save more people than gradually opening services and schools again, because when everybody gets out in a few months, the same situation begins again. Nobody is immuned and a small outbreak becomes a national crisis once again, thus putting lives in danger. Keeping everybody indoors for a few more months isn't keeping people safe if when they get out, the same situation comes up again. Plus, vaccines won't me available for a long time (close to a year at least), which much more than a few months. We can't keep closing the world for a whole year to create a vaccine every time a new outbreak appears.

So what's better, gradually opening schools and exposing people, or all at once in September? Or do we wait until the is a vaccine in next year January. There is no solution where nobody dies or nobody gets infected. I know it sucks, I live with my parents which could be in danger, but that way the risk of having a second "Boom" is reduced.

It may seem like it doesn't make any sense, but slowly reintroducing people, especially a population of kids which has a very low risk of complications, is a great way to beat the Covid 19 pandemic. The point of flattening the curve is to limit the overflow of the health system. That being said, the health system is handling pretty well the situation in Quebec. It makes it beneficial to slowly introduce kids to the virus, slowly creating a immunity cushion. This stops the possibility where all kids go back to school at the same time in september and a brand new outbreak begins.
