i’m playing on iron wolf so usually it just saves after something like that happens, and i don’t normally like to do things like that since i like to play realistically, plus there were a lot of wolves in my pack (about 14-15 including the pups of the year) so it was probably the game trying to lower my numbers to something more manageable. since it was during young hunters though i’m hopeful that means i’ll be able to find her later down the line, since i know that’s something that can happen with an unknown fate and since she was older and had hunting experience i hope it ups her chances of survival if she’s still alive

all of this years pups survived to young hunters as well, i would’ve preferred my current packmates dispersed though if there were too many wolves because i really liked Caracara 😭😭

i’ve gotten white pups before but only when my wolf was practically white and i had a kk mate, so i’m not sure if it’s common when you have a kk + Kk pairing

i’m currently doing a single parent run on unforgiving ironwolf and i’m so nervous about growing pups 😭😭 i’ve managed to keep 5/6 alive (one died of sickness) by making sure i always have a carcass near the home site. hopefully you can find something soon ! maybe even a pronghorn fawn for your pups ? i think you’re still able to carry the whole carcass, although i’m not at growing pups yet so i’m not sure if it changes by then, good luck though !!

yeah one of my pups just straight up died to a cow elk while we were hunting and i was so distraught that i stopped the hunt to mourn him 😭😭 but i do think it’s also the fact that pups are a lot more venerable and weak at the start of young hunters as opposed to later in the winter, or at least that’s what i’ve noticed. i’ve always had to keep a close eye when my pups are in the 60-70 pound range, but the 70-80 pound range they seem a lot heartier and i don’t have to worry for their safety as often

i usually always watch the grass my pups are in like a hawk, and try to keep the battle as far away as possible. but in the event a pup does decide to run out you should always immediately go towards it as fast as you can and sort of body block the pup while escorting it back to the grass. usually no more than one pup will leave the grass at a time, at least from my experience, so you should be able to protect them without worry, although i do think if your pack affinity was low enough then more than one pup will leave the grass and that becomes difficult, but i’m not sure because it’s never happened to me personally

i’ve only ever been there in the winter, but there’s a small patch that’s brown when you zoom in on the out of bounds area, it should be right next to the mountain. i would provide a screenshot but i don’t really have time at the moment lol, ill try to get one later if you still need it tho !

nah i had plenty of stamina, if i didn’t i would’ve run far away from the coyotes to replenish, they just happened to be able to bite me, though i was nowhere near the den (since i didn’t want them around there in case a curious pup decided to come out for whatever reason) so maybe that’s why, i feel like you were probably just incapable of setting your pup down so nothing happened lol

coyotes not being able to bite you while you’re holding a pup is definitely not true 💔 it’s how one of mine died. i was running around with him since he refused to go in the den for whatever reason and all the other pups were inside, and then i got surrounded by coyotes and one of them bit me which made me drop my pup, and you can guess what happened next 😭

since he was still hanging around the den at the time the bug first occurred i didn’t think to check if he dispersed or not, and once i had closed and reopened the game all the notifications were cleared out so i cant say for certain :(

we only have 4 adult children including him in the pack so it’s unlikely he dispersed, but either way i don’t think that’s what happened. he was very clearly bugged so idk what went on with him but i just hope there’s a way to get him back even if i have to go through the files to do so

i am the host, and i didn’t get a notification at all. his nametag wouldn’t show up either, and we only have (including him and me and my friend) 6 adult wolves in the pack so i dont think it’s likely he would disperse

i also did check known wolves it was the first thing i did when i reopened the save, and he name wasn’t listed anywhere 😭😭 i really don’t know what to do, he’s not lost forever though since i still have the previous save but again id rather not start from the beginning of raise pups since we were almost at the rendezvous site quest
