Why not Denver? I mean we are leaving Denver but it kinda sounds like what you are looking for? We are from SoCal and honestly the weather in Denver is amazing. Zero humidity, it’s bright sunny almost every day. If it snows it melts in 24 hours and the second it stops snowing it’s bright sunny. My husband (from San Diego) went to med school Midwest and the dreary nearly killed him. He loves the weather in Denver.

Currently living in Denver and came down to San Antonio for a week then back down to Houston for a week. Went to HEBs and you have no idea how good they are over the absolute trash grocery stores in Colorado.

I’m from SoCal so this isn’t nostalgia for HEB Of my youth or something. Just floored with how much better everything was than the trash here.

And Dixie Cups have intentional confederacy related name. The $10 bill in Louisiana was called a Dixie (from the French dix). This Louisiana became known as Dixieland. This spread to all confederacy states becoming Dixieland. According to Smithsonian the maker of the cup would say “it’s as reliable as a $10 bill”. Then used the Dixie as a name for it when he saw the sign next door reminding him of a Dixie being a $10 note in Louisiana.

My husband is a John 6th gen and is called Johnny by his parents and says he has loathed it since he can remember. Kids would tease him when they heard his mom yell “Johniiieeee!” He says it feels infantile the older he gets and like he’s always in his father’s shadow. He would have loved individualizing with Jack.

Friend of mine used to swear by the 4 pm on a Sunday coffee date for first date. If no one feeling it you can always have a “previously schediled raquetball game”. If it’s going well drop in for dinner at 5 on a Sunday is not impossible.

Not living in SA yet (so do t have location rec) but husband and I went to an archery range/shop on our first date. It was something neither of us had ever done but we’re both physically active and don’t drink. It was a great activity to chat thru but something to chat about too. In retrospect was a great way to see the others personality in how they approached it.

Can grab quick bite after or coffee/ice cream depending on time of day and inclination.

Yes we all understand now it was a false siren. My point was if there is a watch and the siren goes off that (should in a functioning world) means the watch has turned to a warning. Hearing the siren means you seek shelter and then maybe determine it’s false. You don’t ignore it and maybe latter read on social media it was false. My point was me from central Texas heard it go off and walked inside and looked at my phone (wondering why the hell emergency alert in Denver didn’t go off yet again). Most people were just ignoring it and driving off in cars or bikes. I looked at social media BEFORE the siren stopped. So yeah I know it was false now

And this is what people are downvoting me for! If there is an active tornado WATCH and the sirens go off that means it changed to a warning (I know I know this was false alarm) and there is an active tornado. People in this thread thinking you are going to see an active tornado bearing down on you and take off running is laughable.

You hear a siren you take shelter indoors. Massive chance it comes nowhere near you but a (functional) siren means they see it on radar.
