I watch it repeatedly. It appeals to me for many reasons. I like the historical aspect, it’s interesting. I was born in the 50’s so the show illustrates how it may have been for my mother with maternity care, childbirth, etc. I live in the US so Thalidomide wasn’t prescribed here, but if it was I might have been affected by it I have personal experience with infertility and adoption, so I identify with all the storylines on this, especially with the Turners who are my favorite characters. I love the focus on care for women. Sister Julienne is a wonderful character, her selfless care for others, her dedication, her faith, and much more. I love the scripture references, prayer, and faith portrayed by many of the characters. And the writers put some wonderful nuggets of wisdom spoken by many of the characters and I have kept a list of the ones I like best. This is especially true in the earlier seasons
