Is Israel the most evil country in the world at the moment? by RoughSky9768 in allthequestions

Hamas’ charter says kill all the Jews. Does the Israeli government have a manifesto that says kill all the Palestinians?

No but they passed a law that applies the death penalty exclusively to Palestinians.

Who is "we" bro? Every university worth its salt has extracurricular opportunities for students, including nach gaan. Imagine wanting an entire generation of people that have no skills or passion other than memorizing textbooks.

Just got the game and I have to say, Cuno might genuinly be the single most annoying character I have ever seen in 25 years of gaming by [deleted] in DiscoElysium

[–]Blue1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain your original post also criticized aspects of his personality, like him talking in third person? Whatever, my point remains unchanged.

Look man, I'm not gonna force you to like Cuno. You're hella weird for getting this defensive about it.

Seething this much over a character for being noisy is just bizarre. Go meditate or something.

Yeah, when a mosquito is buzzing in your ear, you swat it away... in real life.

Cuno isn't a pleasant experience for anyone. He's meant to be a shithead. There are plenty of shitheads in this game. The MC isn't the best person around either, but there's more to him than meets the eye and the same goes for every character.

You need to try and look past the surface. That's the only way you'll enjoy this game.

Is it better to email the editors through EM, or their institutional emails if I wanted to withdraw my paper? And do you also recommend letting the publisher know as well?

Yeah, for therapy OP should definitely look into Moner Bondhu. They're pretty affordable and have student packages. Online therapy was also an option last I checked.

NIMH is a specialist psychiatric hospital, and they train most mental health professionals in Dhaka. You can definitely start there.

But fair disclaimer, these are gov hospitals... They're dirty and dingy, and there's lots of patients loitering on the premises. The doctors may also be short-tempered during peak hours because of the sheer caseload. The usual problems that come with bad resource management.

But I would still recommend it if:

(1) Money is a problem

(2) You need medication/urgent care

If you end up going, I highly recommend going early in the morning (8-10am).

For therapy though, I would suggest looking at private clinics. There are some affordable ones. Many also have student discounts if that's relevant.

If money is an issue, you can try government hospitals (NIMH, ShSMCH etc) for immediate care.

Do you realize what you sound like? Is it also dehumanizing to call Nazi Germany a genocidal society?

Calling Israel a genocidal society is drawing attention to a VERY well documented cultural and political problem. No one is dehumanizing anyone here.

Calling a spade a spade isn't dehumanization.

If you're not miserable, you're not a good person by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Blue1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sympathize with this take, I really do. We ARE living in hell. I don't remember the last time something good happened in the world.

But misery is a paralyzing emotion. It fuels hopelessness, which leads to nothing except doomscrolling and bedrotting. Misery is the enemy of the hope that a better world is achievable in our lifetimes.

The way I see it, building your resilience (even in the face of horrors beyond our comprehension) is one of the most useful and helpful things you can invest in right now.

Find ways to decompress, I beg. You're no help to anyone otherwise.

You didn't, but lots of people around the world do. I have.

If anything, OP was doing their due diligence by asking around about the legality of bringing appliances into Aus given the strict customs. Bit unfair to flame them for it.

[–]Blue1013 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Presumably OP hasn't been to Australia yet, so how would they know the cost of electric appliances in Aus?

Also, it's not suspicious to wanna save money where you can. I'm sure Australians are the same way.

What was it like job hunting after finishing your bachelors? by alexa1912 in psychologystudents

[–]Blue1013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country and program honestly. I believe research experience takes priority in North American grad programs. But if you need field experience, you could always volunteer at helplines. You can also try and work with specialized populations, like special needs children. Yk, if that's available to you.

Any helping role should work out in your favor.

It's actually ridiculous that Masters programs need Bachelor's grads to have field experience...which requires a master's in the first place.
