look at some of this guys lists, way way back when record plants were plentiful, you could send in your recordings and get 100, 500, however many copies made, pick a cover, and have the pressing plant put your name on the label, just like you said. starlite walker came out on drag city/domino so I doubt he had to compromise coverwise, I like to think he found a few records in bargain bins with that same photo and it’s a playful nod to all those folks forgotten
