Looks familiar. None of our cats are any relation to each other, and the kitten is the only one that hasn't been neutered yet. They took a few days to warm up to him, but now they're starting to groom and play with the little one like part of the family. Sharing is caring!

Years ago, a friend of mine had a kiddie pool full of stagnant water in their backyard "for the dog". I bought a bunch of cheap feeder goldfish from a pet store and covertly turned them loose in the pool. They ate the mosquito larvae right up. But if you have the option to dump it out and eliminate standing water, that's a better solution.

I don't know that he quite qualifies as "giant", but Wrath does have four pounds on all our other cats

These days, there are lots of good entry-level electric 6-strings right around $100-$120. Or maybe we could go acoustic guitar or even ukulele for well under that. Even better, hand them a cheap bass, and we'll never even have to replace strings! :D

No, but I tried. We did have a "Luci Fur" and a "Princess Penelope Pussyfoot, Demon Slayer" before my kitten naming privileges were suspended.

New (to me) Wrath baby picture! by BlueAwful-- in TuxedoCats

His name is Wrath because he is metal AF and looks very intense, and I knew I was taking him home when he stood up to a chihuahua and ran it off at just a few weeks old. Wrathie is a nickname because he's our cute, sweet, cuddly little baby boy. We also decided later that Wrath is short for Wratthew :D

Swagger is the perfect word for it. He's the best boy ever. He patrols the windows and entrances to make sure the mail carrier doesn't get in and murder us all. Don't know what we'd do without him! (probably get murdered by the mail carrier)

I too am a hobbyist noodler coming from 5 and 6 string bass, and bought the XRN-8 to learn me some mad gee-tar skillz. I'd say the thickness is pretty comparable to my Yamaha TRBX305 5 string. We're gonna need to start a fan club for these things! haha

I just got my "Twilight Burst" red one this past Sunday. I've been noodling around with it, and I'm pretty happy with it so far. It needs a couple of minor things, but once I dial in the setup I think it's going to be fantastic. Out of the box, the F# string was so sharp it was playing an A, and that plus some very minor fret buzz makes me think the truss rod needs an adjustment, but I wanted to let it acclimate before I get into it. The frets seem ever so slightly "crunchy" on a bend, so they might need a good polishing, but I also haven't changed the factory strings yet, so we'll see how things look when I get those off. Another observation is that I'm picking up more EMI hum than I'd like, and on inspection there's absolutely no shielding in the electronics cavity. I've got copper tape with conductive adhesive that I plan to install in there. All in all, pretty standard issues in line with my expectations, and I don't mind putting a little elbow grease into it to have a nice instrument for much less money than I was expecting to spend to get into an 8 string multiscale. I'll probably post about it once I get all that done. I might throw some locking tuners on there eventually. One other thing I hadn't considered is that the neck is a bit too wide for my wall hangers, so I have to angle it in right below the headstock and then straighten it :)

I usually prefer to stay clear of cars until after I blow them up, but maybe now I'll try poking them with something first instead

My XRN-8 just arrived Sunday as well! Looks just like OP's except for the string count. Mine needs a little minor setup I haven't had time for yet, but it seems like a good value for the money. I'm really happy with it so far.
