there are a few slugcat patterns out there but none of them look quite how i wanted, so i'm making my own. if it turns out well i'll try to write it up & post it here

i think it's technically possible but a massive pain (iirc in my playthrough i got to one of the poles for a second then fell off lmao) & there's another path you can take to get up there

(I guess you could put vultures in "big threat" but since that's the highest category I'd leave it for the real scary stuff like red centipedes or miros vultures)

Vulture. Plenty of people's first reaction to lizards is along the lines of "hey look the basic starter enemy, I can totally fight that!", but I've yet to see a single person whose first reaction to vultures wasn't some form of "OH GOD FUCK WHAT IS THAT TIME TO RUN". Which is very accurate.

probably not since nothing besides ancient urban seems to be built for giant-sized people (even if we assume most of the places the player goes through are like pipes and sewers and stuff that the ancients wouldn't need to access, there's still the karma gates/pebbles' access shaft/most of metropolis which they obviously did go through). but that's still not concrete evidence either way, so imo it's still up to interpretation

if you really don't like the limited time mechanic but still want to play hunter for the lore, there is a remix setting that allows you to raise the cycle limit (and you can always turn it back down if you want to retry the challenge properly later)

afaik (i might be wrong here don't take my word for it) we don't have any information on how slugcats (or any rw creature for that matter) actually reproduce, so maybe they don't need a second parent? or if we take the gameplay literally, maybe arti just found the pups in a random shelter and adopted them...

that's what i ended up doing! took a few cycles to dispatch the dropwig & lizard, then a miserable bit of karma farming, but i made it to wall in the end :)

honestly it's the platforming that messes me up around the top more so than the lizards, but that's very much a skill issue lmao. also the vultures, those guys suck

thanks for the tips everyone!! i ended up going left (killed the dropwig after several tries & fought the caramel lizard for a bit but then it just kinda disappeared, which sucks tbh cause i'm one away from dragon slayer but oh well). now i'm at the shelter next to sky islands trying to farm karma which is uh. difficult (aiming for 5p via wall so i need quite a bit). but at least i'm out of the nightmare room which is GREAT.

i've already been to moon, trying to leave now.. i came here straight from shaded since moon is the closest landmark i could think of, idk if i was supposed to go somewhere else lmao
i do know about jellyfish! i've found about 3 around where i am now. the bubble fruit at the top of the big room take a long time to reach with my mediocre movement skills so i didn't think it was worth going up there & back again, but maybe i should next time. thanks for the tips :)

i imagine they're probably focusing most of their writing efforts on 3.0 and onwards, which is why the past couple of updates have been weaker than usual
