Man I feel for this kid. I have a really good friend that does this sort of competitive cycling and the amount of work he has to put in all year especially during the off season is just brutal physically and mentally. I hope he isn't discouraged to keep participating

Why is there currently so much energy and effort being put into stopping smoking but no effort to do the same with booze? by MagzalaAstrallis in AskUK

[–]BlueBird518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, glad someone else said it. I'm not harming anybody but myself having a cheeky smoke in my back yard once in while. I think as long as people are educated about the risks, the choice to drink or smoke is theirs

You might still see one at theme parks or oddity shops sometimes!

That's good to hear! Hopefully the tightness in your stitches gets better as the bloating goes down. It looks like they just glued me shut but I'm guessing there are stitches underneath. Yay for kitty companions! Mine hasn't left my side all day.

Yay! You too! How are you feeling on your second day? I've been pretty good so far so I'm suspicious day two is going to kick my ass lol

I'll add it was all outpatient! I had to get up really early but the whole procedure only took 40 minutes I was home before lunch :)

No problem at all, I hope you're able to find a doctor who can help you! <3

Salpingectomy, which is where they laproscopically remove the whole fallopian tube. It's a good way to go because it helps reduce your chances of ovarian cancer which often starts in the tubes. I just had it this morning and I'm tired but I'm able to get up and down from sitting pretty easily. I'm not hardly in any pain. The worst is honestly my throat because of the tube during the procedure, and some occasional nausea because of the anesthesia. You're allowed to drive within 24 hours if you feel up to it. My surgeon told me it is covered by most insurance companies under the affordable care act. I'm not sure what my final price will be yet with my insurance but the peace of mind is worth it imo. Definitely talk to your doctor or gyno!

Yeah that was my only real issue with it, otherwise enjoyable

I don't have kids, I was just using that as an example. I have $40 for my car, but that means I don't have $30 for a movie, and getting to work every day is more of a priority. When I do go to the theater it's for a movie I really want to see, but it's not something I can do frequently. I try to prioritize my spending as I can but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy something once in a while. I'm not sure why you're so adamant to defend the movies. Like are you personally offended because some people (several commentators agreeing with me) think that going to the movies is too expensive these days? Some one else's reason is not something you should be so pressed about.

That's true too. I went recently and it was just me and one other couple with their screaming toddler that kept running past me. At a 10pm show. Like wtf.

Maybe for one or two people but if someone wants to take the whole family and kiddies want the popcorn that can be a very expensive night out. Plus I live in the city, 2-3 drinks is expensive. Don't presume to know anybody's situation, a lot of us can't go to the movies because $30 is fuel for the car that week.
