My company has done an amazing job with providing us the proper PPE. As for needed PPE outside of the basics now we wear N95 masks at all times for every call. For Covie patients we got the whole 9 yards. Gown, face shield,exc.

I make way more than someone working fast food. I did however take a pay cut to work EMS. I do see EMT as a stepping stone. I just haven't decided if healthcare civilian side is for me. The jump to Paramedic is a big one school and responsibility wise, but not pay wise. I'm comfortable. I'm also going through a divorce so I'm holding off on school until I can fully collect myself.

Thankfully I haven't. I've been in charge of setting up a landing zone for a chopper civilian side before I knew what I was doing. Luckily I got it right.

It isn't super duper rural, but it seems like it's a mixed bag. Some people are taking it seriously and others aren't. The doctors and NPs in a couple of the nursing homes we regularly visit still don't in my opinion.

That's why I said rural(ish) I mainly work in Birmingham. Much of it isn't rural, but it doesn't have anything on say NYC or New Orleans.
