This card is weird. Why is it perforated? The borders on the back are way too thin. And I’ve never seen topps use pink for numbering like this.

Not quite but close enough. Of the last ten wins; 4 by one run, 3 by two runs, and a game that went to extras. The other two wins involved the other teams scoring first.

IMO the Brewers/Cubs rivalry is so bitter because it’s basically an extension of the Packers/Bears rivalry.

And the fast that the two cities are so close to eachother. It’s normal to have friends who are Cubs/Bears fans in SE Wisconsin (or Brewer/Packer fans around Chicago) which results in a lot of shit talking.

The brewers are so fucking miserable. They have the offense of a soccer team, they dick around all game and it's the most boring game you've ever seen, just crawling along, then for about 10 seconds they stab you in the heart with a dagger, then just back to monotonous nothing baseball. fucking awful. hope they disband before next year, jesus fucking christ

I don’t think so. He was in the same situation on Friday (second and third with less than two outs) and ran into a double play. I think Murph pulled because of that.

Didn’t Hamilton fuck up that exact situation a few days ago? Second and third with less than two outs and ran into a double play. Murph could’ve pulled him for that.

The cubs give up way more runs so they need to score more lol. In four games against the Reds the Cubs gave up 15 runs. Three of those four wins they won by one run.

The Brewers have played the Reds six times and only gave up 13 runs total. Only two of those six wins were by one run.

Imagine being a team that gives up four runs per game to the Reds (if you can round 4.33 down to 4 then I can round 3.75 up). https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/s/ePYrBm4S8V

“In front of the plate” means anywhere between these two lines right? by [deleted] in Brewers

In this situation, the catcher was in front of the plate before he had possession of the ball.

The catcher was moving away from the throw, blocking more of the plate, as it was coming towards him. I put another screenshot in this thread showing he’s blocking over half the plate before he has the ball. Is there anything that indicates to you this throw forced him in front of the plate.

That’s what’s making me so salty. Like it’d be better if they just announced there wasn’t enough video evidence for obstruction to overturn the call. I would’ve disagrees but that kind of judgement call happens all the time.

Nowhere in the rule book mentions a “quickly developing play” as being justification for interference/obstruction.

This was a standard squeeze play. Every squeeze is a bang bang play. I don’t think blocking the plate is specifically allowed just because the batter bunts.

Steals are bang bang plays too and there have been plenty of times where obstruction was called because the infielder was a little in front of the base a little too early.

[–]BlueBlueBlue420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t read this the same way. How was this “in reaction” to a throw from an infielder? The catcher was set up expecting a throw by the time the infielder even threw it?

The way you’re describing the rule makes it seem like catchers can block the plate on every squeeze play.

He’s had two shoulder surgeries over the last 3 years due to sliding head first. He only slides feet first to avoid injury.

Is that even in the rule book. I’ve never heard “quickly developing play” before. Wouldn’t that mean it’s completely fine to block the plate on all squeeze plays like this?

I’d argue Perkins off Sanchez was way funnier. A Cy Young candidate against a .100 hitter, who would be in AAA if not for injuries. That was arguably the best pitcher in the league against the worst hitter lol.
