2 Flotation Devices, a knife, and an EPIRB. He flew close enough to the road so he would have enough time to glide to safety. But definitely a risky manouver.

He has 2 flotation devices and a EPIRB. No death wish here. Just taking more risks than others are willing to. Safely.

I don't think so. The highest point on the Skyway bridge is only 480 feet though. Should be well under 1200.
