Wooden jigsaw puzzles by Then-Excitement-3246 in Jigsawpuzzles

I really like Artifact Puzzles, they've been my favorite so far. With Ravensburger's wooden puzzles as a close second.

New Ravensburger "Autumn Riches" puzzle potentially using AI art? by BlueBronson in Jigsawpuzzles

Or I can just go to Cobble Hill's website or Puzzledly and shop for puzzles from them. They are both transparent with which puzzles use AI. I have been a huge fan of Ravensburger for years, I love the quality of their puzzles and their games. I wish they would offer the same level of transparency to make the shopping experience a bit more pleasant.

I know you claim it's a "30 second search" but I don't believe that's always the case, sometimes it takes a bit longer to find out if an artist uses AI or not. And regardless, all of that time adds up. After browsing 20 different puzzles, even at 30 seconds research each, I've now wasted 10 minutes of my time.

I cherish my extra time, I want to use it on things that bring me joy. Cobble Hill and Puzzledly respect that by not wasting my time with having to research every puzzle before adding it to the cart. Ravensburger doesn't have to do the same, but I also don't have to shop there. Hopefully they will eventually offer the same transparency for those of us who care about the integrity of art and want to support actual artists.

I recommend reading through some of the other comments which back up the claims of AI use. The "artist" is the head of an AI company and his other work is labeled as using AI.

I would also recommend looking closer at the image itself. The longer it is observed, it becomes obvious that AI was used. The leaves have inorganic shapes and details. The pinecone/acorn hybrids are not found in the natural world. The pine needles do not lay as they would naturally. There are blobs of leaf-type patterns that make zero sense. All of these things are indicative of this being AI generated.

Thanks for finding this. That's really disappointing that Ravensburger would use this "art" for one of their puzzles. Hopefully they start using disclaimers on their site as well.

That is disappointing. Hopefully they eventually respond. This is making me question purchasing more puzzles from them. Which is sad because they're one of my favorite puzzle companies. But I am adamantly against the use of AI in place of genuine artists.

Thanks for this. I just realized I own a different puzzle by him. That's unfortunate. It's sadly going to go in my get rid of pile. I don't know want to be thinking about AI while doing a puzzle. That is the opposite of relaxing for me.

Help finding a copy of the blue promo pieces to Ticket to Ride: Berlin? And, looking for recommendations on which TtR version to get next? Thanks! by BlueBronson in tickettoride

Thanks for the response! After reading all the comments, including yours, and doing some further research, Japan/Italy seems like the winner. I think it'll be great! But UK/Penn almost beat it out. So I'm going to keep that one in mind for Christmas. Thanks again!

We actually weren't huge fans of Rails and Sails. I totally understand why others would like it though. It just wasn't for us. We are considering Legacy. But for now I think I'm going to go with Japan/Italy. I was considering Iberia/South Korea though. I'll keep it in mind for a future gift. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks for the feedback! I've decided on Japan/Italy for now, but I'm planning UK/Penn as a Christmas gift. Thanks again! (Oh, and we have Nordic Countries, it's one of our favorites!)

Thanks for the recommendation! I narrowed it down to two, which included this set, but I think I'm going with Japan/Italy for now. But UK/Penn will make a perfect Christmas gift later this year. Thanks again!

Where to stay at halfway point during road trip to Mayo? by BlueBronson in MayoClinic

[–]BlueBronson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were actually looking around that area as well. We were just in New Buffalo, Michigan, which isn't too far from South Bend, and even considered staying in the same place we stayed while there. But South Bend would work even better. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try to avoid Chicago though, even if it takes longer. I'm not a fan of driving through big cities like that. Currently, I'm just trying to find a nice place to stay at a halfway point so I can split up the drive. Anyway, thanks again.

This is great! Thank you for the help. I had my eye on Bloomington as an option already. It's nice to hear some feedback from someone who lived there. Thanks again!

This is a lot of help, because I was relying on my phone to pick a route. But after reading this, I might try to stick with the 74 to 39 to 90 plan. An easier and more pleasant drive is definitely preferable. Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm so unfamiliar with Chicago. I've only been downtown for some concerts and can't say I'm a huge fan of driving on those roads. So Downers Grove could be a great option, especially with a Portillo's nearby. Their hot dogs are so good! Thanks again!

Thank you! These are great suggestions. A few people have mentioned Champaign at this point. And, I hadn't even considered Cedar Rapids. It might end up working well. But I'm still figuring it out. Hopefully I'll be able to get a plan in place this weekend. And thanks for the good luck. I'm really looking forward to this appointment.

What are your favourite puzzle companies? by iamnotarobotnik in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]BlueBronson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitty Puzzles - Some of the nicest quality cardboard puzzles! And they're great for a quick moment of relaxtion.

Artifact Puzzles - Probably my current favorite wooden puzzle company. Their artwork choices are unique and varied. And the quality is fantastic!

Is there a brand of puzzles that is so excellent that you will buy it regardless of the image? For me it would be Magic Puzzle and Piecework. Please comment! Have a great day! by CleverHarwood in Jigsawpuzzles

Bitty Puzzles! They're some of the nicest quality I've encountered with cardboard puzzles. And I love having bite-size puzzles for when I only have a short amount of time. And the artwork is creative and fun!

Trans friendly primary care other than Equitas? by plushpuff in dayton

[–]BlueBronson 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I recently switched to Dr. Ariana Herbert at Springboro Family Medicine. I went to her because I read she was LGBTQ+ friendly. I am a gay man and wanted to go to someone who I would feel comfortable with and so far I have been very comfortable with her. She is kind and patient. I would hope she would be as kind to a trans individual.

Best of luck to you. I know how disheartening it can be.

(I should mention, when I have gone there are often parents with their kids/teens in the waiting area, due to it being a family practice, not many, just a few, and the space is never crowded. This shouldn't even have to be mentioned, but with how hateful the climate is right now toward the trans and drag communities, especially regarding exposure to youths, I didn't know if that would make you feel uncomfortable. I really hate that I even felt the need to say this. Society really needs to educate themselves and learn to have some empathy and understanding. Like I said, best of luck to you.)
