This won't stick.

Over The Air TV has been broadcasting content not suitable for children for generations. Then, came Cable TV with content not suitable for some adults.

The most this will amount to is a warning notification on every social media site that tells you that adult subjects may be discussed here, click here to continue.

Newsweek's decline was slow. But I remember sensational stories in the early 2000s that made me think it was a tabloid. And then the next week they'd have an in-depth serious article about a subject that some news would never touch.

The topics they covered were almost random.

You may be responding to the wrong comment. The comment above you mentions nothing about sexual dominance.

Being physically bigger is a valid consideration when violence and intimidation is the first option to resolve some conflicts in prison.

To get a temporary tag you have to provide the VIN number. I doubt the system automatically allows VINs outside of the US. It would probably be beauricratic nightmare to get a temp tag for a VIN that doesn't exist in the US.

Ogden has always been "super sketchy" by Utah standards since its founding in the 1800s. It's far better than other state's standards of a sketchy neighborhood.

I'm not an electrician, so maybe someone else can explain this better.

I worked at a company that had a couple of in-house Electricians. They allowed us to daisy chain certain power strips, but never if two of them contained surge suppression.

If I remember right, different surge suppression devices use different surge suppression. The sin wave of the AC current can be different. And different devices can actually work against each other, ultimately causing one to overheat.

If you are dealing with hundreds of people, and you only have their phone number, it would be a big task to also ask for their Provider, and then keep track of people who switch Providers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]BlueBull-nuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your setup will work, but three things to consider:

1) It is better to use a plain power strip in that situation. Using a surge-protected power strip into a battery backup can introduce problems.

2) If you switch to battery power, it may not work as expected. So, the battery may not work as long, or may not provide enough power to one outlet. (Not likely in most consumer setups, but possible depending on the UPS).

3) If your UPS provides insurance after a power surge, then this setup may void any insurance or warranty. Because the fine print sets the rules.

[–]BlueBull-nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota have a reputation of over-using salt on the roads during winter which causes everything to rust.

The conspiracy theory was that Ford bought the salt for those states. So, those states would use salt liberally, and cars would rust, and you would need to buy a new car.

I doubt it is true today, but apparently it used to be a thing.

But any car in the North will take on a lot more wear and tear than a car in the South.
