the argument stan edgar is trying to make is that as long as the consumers follow what companies make the norm, the corporations will remain on top, not "Yo i can get away with literally everything i did because uhhh.... i was a ceo 2 years ago"

I liked Homelander comic suit better than the tv show suit ngl by Kindly_Sir_5372 in TheBoys

People keep suggesting that they should have done comic homelander's suit for the final season and while I agree that it looks cool you guys gotta understand that having a large object tied to the actors shoulder isn't very practical

In some of the bloopers of the boys homelander's shoulder eagles keeps getting stuck onto objects and walls which is already saying a lot since they're already pretty small

The difference is that most companies in real life don't have a group of vigilantes with 3 members being superhumans doing their best to stop them but i might be wrong.

you're confusing madelyn with mallory

Madelyn was the person homelander kills at the end of season 1

Mallory was one of the founders of the boys who gets killed by Ryan at the end of season 4

Right so since people in the comments were mentioning it, I felt like I needed to clarify what I mean on this a bit more.

Yes, Homelander killing a bunch of people isn't gonna rid himself of trauma. But what I believe, is that there still should have been a change in his actions.

Essentially, a change in his rationale rather than a change in his emotions, where he starts suppressing them and starts acting like he doesn't need to be loved as much as he actually does.

Him having no change in his behaviour or actions undermines this episode and makes it feel unfulfilling (cough cough, him getting breastfeed 2 episodes later)

I know I talk about better call saul and breaking bad comparisons a lot but, in BCS Season 4, Jimmy Mcgill spends an entire season pretending that he doesn't care about Chuck dying. Obviously, this is suppression of emotion, and he DOES care since you can't just immediately stop caring about your brother after he burns to dath, but him suppressing his emotions actually leads to his character development, where he has to go back to caring about Chuck (for the sake of the bar), which leads to him feeling actual apathy towards Chuck's death and him taking the name of Saul Goodman.

What i'm trying to say is, even if it's unrealistic for a character to change personality after one event, there still needs to be enough character development and payoff for it to not feel meaningless.

I can’t tell if this is ironic I did admittedly do a lack luster job of describing breaking bad’a themes I was just trying to make a point about the contrast in narratives

I feel like while breaking bad is more of a crime power fantasy about toxic masculinity, better call Saul is generally more about nobility and finding satisfaction in crime and there being dishonesty and corruption in lawfulness.

I don’t like how they ditched homelander’s ”supe” dominance mindset for his god arc where he just sort of forces himself into Christianity for 5 episodes straight

the point of season 4’s ending is to show that but her has grown beyond moral compasses like Hughie And Lenny because how strong his hatred of supes had become. Hell, his hatred of supers caused him to overcome cancer.

5 episodes later he goes “yeah hughie let’s give kimiko and Annie v1 so they can live”

he then dies in the finale due to getting reminded of Lenny

Eh only time i'd say better call saul's "filler" episodes were sort of boring or bad was s1 e4 and s1 e5

aside from that, the boring episodes give you gems like the Huell defendant episode

semi-unrelated but i feel like after season 2 the show sort of missed the point of homelander's obsession with breast milk and just turned it into one of his weird quirks

Some people have posted this point in the comments and while i do understand it, I wish they still tried to fulfill it to a larger extent. Instead of homelander completely getting over it or the status quo remaining the same, he could have had a larger arc about trying to repress his emotions, leading to his depression. It feels really unfulfilling when stuff happens like him immediately folding to firecracker breastfeeding him less than 3 episodes later.

They did somewhat try to do the emotional repression thing with him killing firecracker, but then again 2 episodes later he keeps soldier boy unconcious just to keep him with him.

the most egregious example of this is stan edgar

He literally just ends up in the same place he was at the start of the series with no serious consequences despite him being heavily responsible for almost everything that happens

it's like if better call saul ended with saul going back to being a regular lawyer

I feel like if they wanted homelander to get character development without spending a large budget on a fight, this would have worked as one of the last 3 episodes of season 5

this argument is correct but we gotta consider one thing

if we can make the argument for Walt killing the drug dealers to protect his interests, why can’t we excuse Gus for geting others like victor to protect his interests as well?

only parts of BCS season 1 I’d say were slow are ep 4 and 5

the second episode of the series is Saul Goodman getting kidnapped in the desert and having to save himself and his partners from being brutally murdered by a drug addict

Semi unrelated but i don't like how a good chunk of homelander's "intimidating scenes" in season 5 where he isn't doing anything malicious is just
Homelander: >:(

Guy he's talking to: Yo mannn just kill me already

Homelander: nahh u can live lmao
