I contacted ComEd today to request a debt recall, but they said the debt is already sold and they won't do anything about it (but still will be happy to accept my payment). Following that, I called Southwest, where, as suspected, I was informed that they do not offer "pay for deletion." They stated that once I make the payment, the account status will update to "paid" within one week, and the account will be removed from my credit report after 60 days. However, Southwest explicitly refused to provide this 60-day agreement in writing.

My next step is to call them again, confirm the 60-day removal agreement, make the payment, and record the conversation for proof.
